Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang and municipal City People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh co-chaired a meeting on Monday afternoon to identify the next steps in combatting COVID-19 as the city is entering the new phase of the battle against the deadly disease.
The two city leaders called on heads of competent agencies, districts, wards and communes to make greater efforts to issue travel permits to all eligible people across the city to meet growing demand from businesses and individuals.
Secretary Quang said that there is a large amount of public appreciation for the issuance of QR Code travel permits as the new travel permit form helps the city address shortcomings in the past time. However, he asked competent bodies to carefully consider the issue of travel permit to people eligible for it in order to keep people off the streets for non-essential activity.
As of September 6, nearly 120,000 travel permits had been issued in the city.
Municipal People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh stressed the need to enhance surveillance over COVID-19 cases and all contacts in designated quarantine facilities and locked down areas in a bid to contain the spread of the virus.

Mr Chinh emphasized that healthcare workers who take the responsibility for collecting swab samples from local residents to test for coronavirus, and move from red, yellow zones to green ones must undergo regular rapid COVID tests in efforts to prevent the spread of the disease.
Chairman Chinh directed the municipal Department of Planning and Investment to develop Da Nang’s economic recovery action plan which should set out decisive actions to drive economic recovery from the pandemic in the coming time.
