Within the framework of the Danang New Year Festival 2026, on the evening of December 30, the area of the East Bank Park of Dragon Bridge became a focal point for locals and visitors alike as the Cheer Fest Food Space – Connecting Joy officially opened to the public.
Taking place from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, from December 30, 2025 to January 3, 2026, the event created a vibrant, colorful festive atmosphere along the Han River, attracting thousands of residents and tourists to explore, enjoy culinary delights, and welcome the New Year.
This year’s Cheer Fest was organized on an expanded scale, oriented toward a multi-dimensional experiential model under the spirit of “eat well – have fun – connect the community.” A key highlight was the culinary space featuring local, regional, and international cuisines, bringing together dozens of food stalls representing flavors from Da Nang – Quang Nam to the Mekong Delta and Northern Vietnam, along with sizzling BBQ grills that offered an engaging and visually appealing dining experience.
In addition, the event dedicated a separate area to an international beverage experience with a wide range of imported flavors, a display and shopping space for handicrafts and souvenirs for visitors, as well as zones for hands-on experiences in coffee brewing, ice cream making, and trendy desserts.
As night fell and the lights came on, the stalls lit up simultaneously, spreading the irresistible aromas of local specialties such as mi Quang, banh xeo, grilled pork vermicelli, grilled seafood, and traditional sweet soups.
Diversity was also reflected in fusion-style dishes combining Asian and European influences, creative beverages, and trendy desserts popular with young people. Mr. Trinh Van Phuoc, a young visitor from Ho Chi Minh City, shared that the BBQ area and cocktail-mixing stalls were “golden check-in spots” thanks to their eye-catching setup and lively gathering atmosphere.
Beyond a journey of flavors, Cheer Fest also offered a rich cultural and entertainment experience. A mini performance stage was interwoven throughout the venue, allowing visitors to stroll while enjoying street performances, acoustic music, water drum shows, and lively entertainment acts. Music blended with conversations and children’s laughter, creating a vivid scene imbued with the youthful, community-oriented spirit of the coastal city.
Many Da Nang families viewed the event as a chance to gather together ahead of the New Year. Ms. Le Thao (Hai Chau Ward) shared: “A busy year of work doesn’t give our family many chances to go out together. At Cheer Fest, the children can play while adults relax with good food. It feels very comfortable and exciting.”
For international tourists, Cheer Fest offered a fresh way to experience Da Nang — a destination that is not only scenic but also rich in culture and community connection. Mr. Michael Rogers from Australia said: “I’ve been to Da Nang before, but I’ve never experienced a food festival right by the river like this. The food is excellent, and the way people interact — the smiles of the vendors — makes me feel truly welcome.”
Young people also did not miss the chance to immerse themselves in the festive flow. A group of students from Hanoi shared that they chose Da Nang as their New Year destination because of the lively riverside events. “We wanted a place where we could eat well and take beautiful photos. At Cheer Fest, every corner is a great spot to capture end-of-year memories,” said Do Hoai Linh.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Cheer Fest is oriented toward becoming a comprehensive experiential model — a place where residents and visitors can dine, be entertained, connect, and enjoy local culture. The event contributes to enriching Da Nang’s year-end festive landscape while reaffirming the city’s position as a leading destination for events and festivals.
