With the aim of creating a warm Lunar New Year atmosphere and conveying wishes of peace and good fortune to every traveler, Da Nang International Airport has officially unveiled the Golden Horse mascot at the waterfall area near the entrance of Terminal 2.

This is a dedicated artistic project by artisan Dinh Van Tam, a native of Quang Tri Province, who has become a well-known name among the public in recent years for his outstanding works of zodiac mascots. He is nationally recognized for bringing vivid spirit and character to iconic creations such as the Tiger (Year of the Tiger), Cat (Year of the Cat), and Dragon (Year of the Dragon)—each generating widespread attention on social media thanks to their lifelike appearance, distinctive expression, and exceptional craftsmanship.
To complete the 5-meter-tall Golden Horse, artisan Dinh Van Tam and his team worked continuously for over a month. The sculpture features a solid internal steel framework, covered with more than 60 square meters of golden aluminum panels. Notably, to achieve a refined and dynamic surface, the artwork was meticulously assembled from 150,000 small aluminum pieces, allowing the mascot to convey both strength and elegance while creating a shimmering light-reflection effect. Every detail—from the flowing mane to the sculpted muscles—has been carefully crafted, expressing a spirit of power, vitality, and approachability.

Sharing insights on the preparation for this project, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Kieu, Head of Communications and External Relations of Da Nang International Airport Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT), stated: “To ensure the Golden Horse mascot could be introduced at the airport in time for the Year of the Horse, we proactively initiated artistic collaboration with artisan Dinh Van Tam six months in advance. Through this artwork, we hope to spread positive energy, inspiration, and confidence for a dynamic and breakthrough Year of the Horse.”

As the old year draws to a close and a new journey begins, Da Nang International Airport hopes the Golden Horse mascot will serve as a symbol of good fortune—bringing moments of joy to travelers on every arrival and departure. With this inspiring beginning, we look forward to welcoming 2026 with confidence, shared success, and a collective aspiration to further elevate Da Nang’s presence on the international map.
