On the evening of December 30, at the eastern bank park of Dragon Bridge, the Danang New Year Festival 2026 (Danang New Year Festival 2026) officially opened, marking the beginning of a vibrant series of cultural, artistic, tourism, and entertainment activities serving residents and visitors during the year-end period. Attending the opening ceremony were Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang City People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, along with representatives of departments, agencies, units, businesses, and a large number of residents and visitors.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang City People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi acknowledged and praised the proactive and active efforts of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, relevant agencies, local authorities, the business community, and residents in coordinating the organization of the festival; at the same time, she expressed her appreciation to media agencies and journalists for widely spreading the festive spirit and the image of Da Nang to domestic and international audiences.
The Vice Chairwoman affirmed that Da Nang consistently regards culture as its spiritual foundation, tourism as a key economic sector, and events and festivals as an important “catalyst” to enhance destination attractiveness, stimulate consumption, and contribute to promoting the city’s socio-economic development.
The Danang New Year Festival 2026 takes place over five days, from December 30, 2025 to January 3, 2026, featuring a diverse series of cultural, sports, tourism, and entertainment activities at multiple locations across the city, promising to offer a rich and novel experiential space that meets the needs of all audiences.
A highlight of this year’s opening ceremony was a lineup of distinctive and impressive artistic performances, featuring professional international artists from Sun World Ba Na Hills along with local artists and dancers, creating a vibrant and colorful cultural exchange atmosphere. Notably, the opening ritual was elaborately staged, combining sound, lighting, and striking stage visual effects, generating an emotional artistic explosion and ushering in a lively, festive, and captivating festival season.
The Vice Chairwoman stated that the city would direct functional forces and relevant units to coordinate closely to ensure the festival is conducted safely, civilly, and thoughtfully. At the same time, she expressed her hope that residents and visitors would accompany the city by complying with guidance and demonstrating civilized behavior, contributing to maintaining urban aesthetics so that every moment in Da Nang becomes a complete and memorable experience.
The city expects the New Year Festival to become a distinctive annual gathering, where residents and visitors come together to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere, share joy, and fully feel the fresh rhythm of Da Nang at the moment of transition between the old year and the new year.
