Beyond strong growth in visitor numbers and air connectivity, the city is undergoing a profound transformation in line with the rise of youth travel, marked by the growing dominance of personalized, flexible, and technology-driven experiences.

According to the latest report from Amadeus, the number of air passengers arriving in Da Nang in 2025 increased by 22.6%, while total seat capacity — particularly from international markets — rose by 22.1% compared to 2024. These positive figures clearly reflect the strong post-pandemic recovery of the tourism industry and the increasing attractiveness of Da Nang on the Asian tourism map.

International Arrivals Accelerate – Da Nang Strengthens Its Regional Position

Korean travelers continue to be the largest inbound market to Da Nang, ranking first in both flight searches and bookings. Meanwhile, Vietnamese domestic travelers remain the city’s core source market. Notably, emerging markets such as Thailand, Hong Kong, and India recorded exceptional growth rates of 113%, 130%, and 123% respectively — demonstrating the expanding regional reach of Da Nang’s tourism brand.

This shift aligns closely with the city’s strategy to diversify international source markets, maximize the potential of direct air routes, strengthen regional connectivity, and expand its overseas tourism promotion network.

The Young Generation Shapes New Travel Trends

One of the most prominent highlights of Da Nang’s tourism performance in 2025 is the strong surge of young travelers aged 18–35, now accounting for the largest share of total flight bookings to the city. In particular, young travelers from Korea and Viet Nam clearly demonstrate a preference for novel, dynamic, exploration-oriented, and highly personalized experiences.

This trend not only reflects changing travel consumption behavior, but also serves as a key driver for Da Nang to further develop a diverse and modern tourism product ecosystem — ranging from high-end resorts, adventure tourism, music festivals, and creative spaces to distinctive check-in destinations. Successfully engaging the young traveler segment will enable Da Nang to consolidate its position as a leading destination for Asia’s youth, while generating strong positive media momentum and social-media-driven experience sharing — where young travelers themselves become the most influential ambassadors of the destination.

Accommodation Growth and the Rising Role of OTAs

The accommodation sector in Da Nang continued to record positive signals in 2025, with hotel occupancy rates remaining high throughout the year. Although a slight seasonal decline was observed in early 2026, overall growth momentum remained stable. This indicates the sustained attractiveness of the city’s tourism market, while also underscoring the need to enhance service quality and expand personalized lodging experiences.

In terms of booking channels, Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) have emerged as a prominent trend. The proportion of room bookings via platforms such as Agoda and Booking.com in Da Nang increased from 20% to 27% within just one year. This clearly demonstrates the rapid digital transformation of the tourism industry and highlights the critical role of technology in attracting and retaining modern travelers.

Beyond responding to market demand, Da Nang is proactively strengthening partnerships with leading global OTAs such as Traveloka, Trip.com, and Klook, with the aim of expanding target markets, enhancing destination communication capacity, and effectively promoting the city’s signature tourism products. This strategy forms part of the broader vision to build a smart tourism ecosystem — where digital platforms are not merely distribution channels, but strategic partners in destination branding, product diversification, and experience personalization for each traveler segment.

Vision for 2026 and Beyond

Building on the positive momentum of 2025, Da Nang’s tourism sector is demonstrating strong readiness for further advancement in 2026 and the near future. With the strategic ambition to develop into an international tourism, service, and event hub, the city is progressively renewing its promotion models, investing in smart infrastructure, advancing green and sustainable tourism products, and enhancing visitor experiences.

Emerging consumption behavior trends, combined with accurate market data, will serve as a solid foundation enabling Da Nang’s tourism industry to move confidently forward on its journey to become one of the most attractive destinations in the region.
