Following a series of focused and coordinated tourism promotion and marketing activities implemented across the Russian and CIS markets in recent months, visitor arrivals from these markets to Da Nang have recorded strong growth. In the first four months of 2026, Da Nang welcomed more than 142,000 visitors from Russia and CIS countries, accounting for approximately 3.7% of the city’s total international arrivals, representing an increase of over 20% compared to the same period in 2025.

hese positive results reflect the effectiveness of Da Nang’s targeted international market development strategy, while reaffirming the city’s growing appeal among high-end beach holiday travelers from Russia and the CIS region.

Since the beginning of 2026, the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has actively implemented a wide range of large-scale communication, promotion and tourism marketing activities in Russia and CIS countries. A key highlight was Da Nang’s participation in MITT Moscow 2026 — the largest international travel trade fair in Russia and Eastern Europe — where Da Nang was honored as the “Most Outstanding Destination.” In parallel, the city organized networking programs with media partners and travel businesses in Russia, coordinated welcoming ceremonies for the first direct flights from Russia and CIS countries to Da Nang in 2026, and hosted international famtrip delegations to survey the destination.

Notably, for the first time, Da Nang launched an international digital communication campaign on the Yango ecosystem — a widely used technology and digital services platform across Russia and CIS countries, particularly among Russian-speaking users. Through integrated services including ride-hailing, maps, location search, digital advertising and daily online utilities, Da Nang’s tourism image has been directly promoted to a broad Russian-speaking audience across digital platforms. Initial results have been highly encouraging, with significant increases in searches, website traffic and online engagement from the Russian market recorded across Da Nang’s tourism information system. Russia is now among the top international markets in terms of website traffic, while Russian has become one of the most frequently used languages on the city’s tourism information platforms.

The continuous growth in Russian user engagement in recent months further demonstrates the effectiveness of Da Nang’s strategic communication partnership with the Yandex ecosystem, contributing to greater destination visibility across Russia and CIS countries. This is considered a new and strategic international communication approach in Da Nang’s ongoing efforts to diversify its international visitor markets.

Alongside destination promotion activities, the summer of 2026 has also witnessed a significant expansion of charter flight networks from Russia, CIS countries and Belarus to Da Nang. According to the operational plan, from April 1 to October 31, 2026, Anex Vietnam Trading and Tourism Co., Ltd. (Anex Tour Vietnam) will substantially expand its charter operations to Vietnam, connecting 20 cities across Russia, the CIS and Belarus with key Vietnamese destinations including Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phan Thiet and Phan Rang. The total projected volume is expected to exceed 250,000 passengers during the summer season, reflecting strong recovery and growing demand from these markets for Vietnam’s tourism sector.

In Da Nang specifically, Anex Tour Vietnam will operate charter services from April 16 to October 31, 2026, connecting 12 cities across Russia, the CIS and Belarus, including Moscow, Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Kazan, Khabarovsk, Novokuznetsk, Blagoveshchensk, Barnaul, Minsk, Astana and Almaty. During the peak summer season, the total number of visitors arriving in Da Nang from these markets is projected to reach approximately 68,160 passengers.

Of particular significance, on May 23, 2026, the first direct flight connecting Moscow and Da Nang, jointly operated by Anex Tour Vietnam and Vietjet Air, is scheduled to land at Da Nang International Airport carrying 377 passengers. This marks the first direct air route between Moscow and Da Nang after many years, representing an important milestone in reconnecting the Russian market with Central Vietnam and opening up strong growth prospects for international arrivals from Russia and the CIS region in the coming period.

The increasing frequency of flights from Russia, CIS countries and Belarus not only contributes to the diversification of Da Nang’s international visitor markets, but also demonstrates the growing confidence of international travel businesses in the attractiveness and service capacity of the destination. Amid the gradual recovery and restructuring of global tourism, Da Nang continues to affirm its position as a safe, attractive and experience-rich destination for international travelers.
