On the morning of March 22, 2026, East Sea Park came alive with the vibrant energy of nearly 9,000 runners from more than 75 countries and territories, all gathering for the Danang International Marathon 2026. More than just a race, the event unfolded as an emotional journey where every stride aligned with the rhythm of the coastal city—where sport becomes a bridge for creating unforgettable moments.

From the very first light of dawn, as sunlight gradually spread across My Khe Beach, runners began their journey along the scenic Vo Nguyen Giap – Truong Sa route. On one side stretched the vast blue ocean, while on the other, the city slowly awakened. The course continued across Da Nang’s iconic bridges, where each step resonated with the flow of a dynamic, modern, and energetic city.

Within this movement, each runner was not simply competing, but embarking on a journey back to themselves—where every breath and every step became more present and authentic than ever before. Amid the expansive seascape and the city in motion, the spirit of sport was not only about pushing limits, but also about deep connection—with the body, with emotions, and with the most genuine values within.

Throughout the course, Da Nang revealed itself as a vibrant experiential space where nature, urban life, and people exist in harmony. Each stride was not only about conquering distance, but also about “touching” the landscape, the rhythm of life, and the unique energy of the city. And at the finish line, what remained was not just achievement, but a sense of balance, authenticity, and renewed inspiration.

This year’s race witnessed remarkable performances across all distances. In the full marathon (42km), Moral Edsel (Philippines) claimed the men’s championship with a time of 2:30:42, while Vu Khanh Linh led the women’s category with 3:01:20—an impressive milestone in her journey of self-transcendence. In the 21km category, Yamasaki Takemaru (Japan) and Trieu Thi Binh secured top positions in the men’s and women’s divisions, delivering equally inspiring performances.
The 5km race brought one of the most dramatic highlights, as Nguyen Chi Kien and Kim Eunseop (Korea) engaged in a thrilling sprint finish right before the finish line. That final burst of speed was not only a test of physical endurance, but also a powerful symbol of perseverance and the desire to surpass limits—core values that define the spirit of sport.

Beyond being an international sporting event, the Danang International Marathon 2026 also carried meaningful community impact, with a total of USD 20,000 raised for social organizations in the city. These contributions reaffirm the deeper significance of the race—where sport not only connects people, but also creates positive change for society.

After more than a decade of development, the Danang International Marathon has become a distinctive hallmark of the city—where sport, tourism, and experience converge. In this space, each runner is not just taking part in a race, but discovering Da Nang in a truly unique way: through every step, every emotion, and every irreplaceable moment.
