At 1:00 PM on March 29, at the stage of Trung Vuong Theatre Da Nang (86 Hung Vuong Street, Hai Chau District), the ballet “Romeo and Juliet” will be officially performed, offering an emotionally rich artistic space where the timeless love story is vividly brought to life on stage.

In implementation of the 2026 people-to-people diplomacy plan in Da Nang, approved by the City People’s Committee under Decision No. 2006/QĐ-UBND dated October 15, 2025, and Notice No. 199/TB-VP dated March 19, 2026 announcing the conclusion of Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, at the meeting with the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Da Nang on March 13, 2026 regarding the reception of the Russian State Ballet troupe, the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam–Russia Friendship Association of Da Nang, in coordination with the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Da Nang, Trung Vuong Theatre Da Nang, and relevant units, will organize the ballet performance “Romeo and Juliet” by the Russian State Ballet (Russian Federation).

Invited guests include leaders and former leaders of agencies under the Ministry of National Defence and Military Region V; leaders of Da Nang City; leaders, officials and staff of departments, agencies, unions and organizations of Da Nang; leaders and members of the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations; Executive Committee members, chapters and members of the Vietnam–Russia Friendship Association of Da Nang and affiliated organizations; lecturers, alumni and students of the Russian Language Faculty at the University of Foreign Language Studies – The University of Da Nang; leaders and staff of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Da Nang and other diplomatic missions in the city; Russian citizens living and working in Da Nang and nearby provinces; along with a wide audience in the city who admire Russian culture and people.

The ballet Romeo and Juliet is a classical masterpiece that recreates Shakespeare’s immortal tragic love story through dramatic music and expressive choreography. Adapted from the literary work of William Shakespeare, with powerful and emotionally charged music by Sergei Prokofiev, the ballet “Romeo and Juliet” intertwines the tragedy of eternal love with intense physical expression, vividly portraying the romantic spirit and dramatic conflicts of the story.

The performance by the Russian State Ballet promises not only to offer audiences in Da Nang the opportunity to experience classical Russian ballet—an academic art form that tells timeless stories through refined body language, harmonized with romantic and emotional music—but also to contribute to strengthening cultural exchange and further deepening the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between the Russian Federation and Vietnam in general, and between Da Nang and Russian localities in particular.
