After a week of vibrant activities, the 4th Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF IV) concluded on a high note, earning a place among the most talked-about events in early July 2026 according to media monitoring rankings by Kompa, Socialite and Socialtrend.
A remarkable presence across media rankings
DANAFF IV’s appearance among the most-discussed events reflects the festival’s strong impact across media platforms and social networks.
Throughout the festival, DANAFF IV attracted significant attention from filmmakers, artists, industry experts, media organizations and film enthusiasts through a diverse program of film screenings, audience talks, professional seminars, industry networking activities and the awards ceremony.
Beyond the impressive figures reflected in the rankings, these achievements also demonstrate the strong support, engagement and enthusiasm that DANAFF IV received from both the Vietnamese and international film communities.
Outstanding films and talents honored
With a distinguished Jury Panel comprising renowned filmmakers and industry experts from Vietnam and abroad, numerous prestigious awards were presented to outstanding films and individuals across various categories.
In the Vietnamese Film Competition, the Best Film award was presented to The Last Flight (Tử chiến trên không), directed by Ham Tran. Director Duong Minh Chien received the Best Director award for In Search of Agarwood (Truy tìm Long Diên Hương).
Actress Viet Huong won the Best Actress award for her performance in Grandma’s Treasure (Cục vàng của ngoại), while actor Thai Hoa received the Best Actor award for his role in The Last Flight.
The Best Screenplay award went to screenwriter Oscar Duong for Money Trap (Bẫy tiền), while the Jury Special Prize was awarded to In Search of Agarwood.
In the Asian Film Competition, the Best Film award was presented to Full Plate from India. Director Emin Alper won the Best Director award for Salvation, a co-production involving Türkiye, France, the Netherlands, Greece, Sweden and Saudi Arabia.
Actress Kirti Kulhari received the Best Actress award for Full Plate, while Caner Cindoruk was honored as Best Actor for his performance in Salvation.
The Best Screenplay award was presented to screenwriter Zhuo Kailuo for China’s Poor Taxi, while the Jury Special Prize went to Japan’s Numb.
Professional awards and audience favorites
The Asian Cinema Panorama Critics’ Award, presented to the most outstanding Asian film in the Asian Cinema Panorama section—which showcases acclaimed Asian films that have achieved success at international film festivals or premiered at DANAFF—was awarded to The Adamant Girl (Khi trái cọ rơi) by Bangladeshi director Mejbaur Rahman Sumon.
The Audience Choice Award for Favorite Vietnamese Film, voted by festival audiences, was presented to See You on the Eclipse Day (Hẹn em ngày nhật thực), directed by Le Thien Vien.
The NETPAC Award, presented by the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema for the Outstanding Vietnamese Film, was awarded to Crimson Rain (Mưa đỏ), directed by Dang Thai Huyen.
