Fragments by Kiều Maily brings together broken statues, chipped bas-reliefs, ceramic shards, terracotta, and straw as traces of a past that can never be fully restored. Rather than seeking a lost original, the installation embraces the voids left by time and change, where incompleteness does not signify absolute loss, but opens up possibilities for life and continuity.

Formed from fragments found by chance, memory in this work is always partial and continually reinterpreted. Each encounter with the past becomes an act of reading, imagining, and creating new truths. In the face of rupture, people keep searching for ways to mend what is broken through art, philosophy, love, and nostalgia, sometimes with a longing for a wholeness that may never have existed.
By placing ceramic shards, terracotta, and straw side by side on the exhibition floor, Kiều Maily invites a different way of seeing existence. Humans are no longer positioned as the center or ruler of nature, but as one element within a vast material network in which all forms of life and matter depend on one another. In this space, fragments do not need to return to their former shape. They can connect, support, and heal within new relationships. Red silk, like a flame, illuminates the possibility of continuity emerging from rupture.
