Five Prominent International Golfers Participating in the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024

The BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024, now in its third consecutive season, maintains its strong appeal by drawing in numerous top golfers from the region. The upcoming tournament will showcase nearly 140 Vietnamese and international golfers vying for a substantial prize fund of $100,000. Notably, two players currently ranked in the Top 3 of the ADT Order of Merit, Rahil Gangjee (India) and Ahmad Baig (Pakistan), are set to participate.

1. Rahil Gangjee
• Nationality: India
• World Ranking: Current 632 | Best 266 (OWGR)
• Notable Achievements: Panasonic Open Golf Championship 2018 (co-sanctioned by the Japan Golf Tour and Asian Tour), Volkswagen Masters China 2004 (Asian Tour), Louis Philippe Cup 2018 (Asian Development Tour), PKNS Selangor Masters 2024 (Asian Development Tour), HT Pro Golf Lucknow 2001-02, PGTI Players Championship (Royal Calcutta Golf Club 2008), PGTI Players Championship (Chandigarh Golf Club 2013)
• Rahil Gangjee, 45, is one of India’s most famous professional golfers. At 21, Gangjee became India’s number-one amateur golfer in 1999 and secured six championship titles. Throughout his successful professional career, he has won seven titles, including two on the Asian Tour at the Volkswagen Masters-China in 2004 and the Panasonic Open Golf Championship in 2018. Gangjee has proven that age is just a number by winning the PKNS Selangor Masters on the ADT in Malaysia two months ago (June 19-22, 2024).
2. Khalin Joshi
• Nationality: India
• World Ranking: Current 1210 | Best 238
• Notable Achievements: Panasonic Open India 2018 (co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and PGTI), PGTI Players Championship (Noida Golf Course 2014), PGTI Ahmedabad Masters (Kalhaar Blues & Greens 2015), PGTI Players Championship (Classic Golf & Country Club 2016), Jaipur Open 2021, TATA Steel PGTI Players Championship 2022 (KgiSL).
• Born in 1992, Khalin Joshi is one of the most successful golfers on the Professional Golf Tour of India. He has five championship titles, notably the Panasonic Open India in 2018, co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour. In 2018, Joshi topped the money list on the Professional Golf Tour of India. He is no stranger to Vietnam, having participated in the BRG Open Golf Championship 2023 (finishing T15) and Nam A Bank Vietnam Masters 2024 (finishing T47).
3. Ahmad Baig
• Nationality: Pakistan
• World Ranking: Current 733 | Best 707
• Notable Achievements: Lexus Challenge 2024 and Nam A Bank Vietnam Masters (Asian Development Tour).
• Ahmad Baig, a Pakistani golfer with a solid connection to Vietnam, has twice won co-sanctioned VGA Tour and ADT tournaments in 2024: the Lexus Challenge and Nam A Bank Vietnam Masters. These are Baig’s first and only ADT titles, and they have propelled him to the top of the ADT Order of Merit for the 2024 season. Ahmad Baig competed in last year’s BRG Open Golf Championship and finished T27.
4. Natipong Srithong
• Nationality: Thailand
• World Ranking: Current 866 | Best 345
• Notable Achievements: Resorts World Manila Masters 2015 (Asian Tour).
• Thai golfer Natipong Srithong, born in 1993, participated in both ADT events in Vietnam this year. He finished T7 at the Lexus Challenge and T4 at the Nam A Bank Vietnam Masters. Srithong’s first and only victory on the Asian Tour came at the Resorts World Manila Masters in 2015. Before becoming a professional, Srithong had a distinguished amateur career, winning two gold medals in individual and team events at the 2015 SEA Games in Singapore.
5. Kosuke Hamamoto
• Nationality: Thailand
• World Ranking: Current 725 | Best 238
• Notable Achievements: Asian Development Tour (1 title).
• Kosuke Hamamoto, a golfer of Thai-Japanese descent, was a standout star in amateur golf. He won the individual gold medal at the 29th SEA Games. The 25-year-old golfer secured his first professional title last year at the ADT – All Thailand Partnership Trophy 2023. This year, Hamamoto participated in both ADT events in Vietnam, finishing T11 at the Lexus Challenge and T19 at the Nam A Bank Vietnam Masters.
