TOURISM STIMULUS CAMPAIGN 2024 – ENJOY DANANG 2024
With the gracious permission of the People’s Committee of Da Nang City, a comprehensive plan has been developed to stimulate demand and attract tourists to Da Nang in 2024. The esteemed plan numbered 71/KH-SDL, is being led by the Da Nang Department of Tourism in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Sports, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Information and Communications, the People’s Committee of Districts and the Tourism Association of Da Nang, corporations, and the business community. On 29/3/2024, the highly esteemed Department of Tourism of Da Nang City will be announcing the “Enjoy Danang 2024” program, aimed at promoting the unique tourism products of Danang, including events and festivals, culinary tourism, night-time tourism, wedding tourism, and MICE tourism.
2024 is the year to explore Da Nang City with the Brazil – Vietnam Football Festival 2024, Danang International Fireworks Festival, Enjoy Danang Festival, Vinfast Iron Man 70.3 Vietnam, Danang International Marathon 2024, 13th Southeast Asian Student Games, International Street Art Festival, Danang Beer Festival, BRG Open Golf Championship, Danang Asian Film Festival, and the Danang Festival – Happy New Year. Visitors can also experience the city’s vibrant night tourism products, including charming Ao Dai shows, the Han River excursion program, tourist cyclos, the Dragon Bridge’s fire-water spray show, nightlife music entertainment at 5-star hotels, bars, clubs, and activities of tourist streets and night markets such as An Thuong Tourist Street, Son Tra night market, Helio night market, and My An night beach.
In the first quarter of 2024, Da Nang’s tourism activities have achieved outstanding results. Accommodation establishments have served over 1.88 million visitors, a 23.4% increase from the same period in 2023. International visitors are estimated at nearly 636,000, up 21.6%, while domestic arrivals are estimated at almost 1.25 million, up 24.3% over the same period in 2023. The revenue from accommodation, food, and travel is estimated at more than VND 7.6 trillion, up 25.6% from the same period in 2023, with revenue from accommodation and travel estimated at more than VND 3.7 trillion, up 46.2% from the same period in 2023. During the first three months of 2024, the total number of flights to Da Nang is estimated at 9,550, with about 1.59 million passengers, comprising 4,798 domestic flights and 4,752 international flights. In the second quarter of 2024, the city is expected to have five new and restored international routes: Taichung (Taiwan – China), Kaohsiung (Taiwan – China), Vientiane (Laos), Manila (Philippines), and Fukushima (Japan, charter flight).
The Department of Tourism, in collaboration with various organizations, is committed to enhancing the tourism experience in Da Nang. To achieve this goal, the department has established partnerships with several entities, including Vietnam Railways Corporation, Sun Group, Vietnam Airlines, HG Vietnam Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, Asia Destination Management Joint Stock Company, Kkday Vietnam Co., Ltd., and Traveloka Vietnam Co., Ltd.
These alliances aim to develop new tourism products, improve transportation services, and attract critical domestic and international markets to Da Nang. The department’s efforts include expanding train tourism products, increasing the options for visiting Da Nang, promoting the Enjoy Danang program to domestic and international markets through online platforms, and launching several new tourism products in 2024.
The new products, such as a water music performance, cultural show featuring water puppetry, water motorcycle show, flyboard with sound effects, and lighting and fireworks (Danang River Show), are designed to showcase the city’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. In addition, the department plans to open Bach Dang pedestrian street, pilot night services on the Nguyen Van Troi bridge and park, and launch the Danang Wow Train, Hue-Danang Tourist Train “Connecting Central Heritage,” and Danang Food Tour to promote typical culinary products.
Da Nang has taken a step forward to enhance the experience of tourists visiting the city by launching the Enjoy Danang 2024 program. The program includes over 10,000 free vouchers and discount incentives worth VND 5 billion for tourists, which they can avail of while exploring the city. The city is also offering 2000 free tickets to the Danang International Fireworks Festival to visitors who register to buy tourism services/products from the Danang calendar on online platforms such as Kkday and Traveloka, the program’s website (enjoydanang.vn) and Danang tourism’s social networking sites. In addition, visitors can participate in minigames/wheels of fortune at the Danang Tourist Information Counter (Domestic Arrival, International Arrival, Danang Visitor Support Center) to win vouchers and gifts for their memorable trip.
To provide visitors with more options to explore Da Nang, combo packages such as the Enjoy Danang combo by train and the Enjoy Danang combo – Iron Man 70.3 Vietnam competition are also available through tour operators in Da Nang. Moreover, visitors can hunt for free vouchers/preferential prices to experience sightseeing services, stay, eat, play, entertain, and shop during the Golden Week – Great offers on the program’s website (enjoydanang.vn).
The Enjoy Danang 2024 program is a collaborative effort involving the Danang tourism business community, supermarkets, commercial centers, markets, and companies that specialize in providing OCOP products. It also includes the participation of distinguished companies such as Sun Group, Vietnam Railways Corporation, Suoi Duo DHC Joint Stock Company, VKSTAR Joint Stock Company (Ao Dai Show), AION Tourism City Joint Stock Company (Poseidon), and Viet An Group. Additionally, it involves several esteemed hotel brands such as Furama Resort Danang, Hilton Danang, Hilton Garden Inn, Da Nang, Mikazuki Japanese Resorts & Spa, Wyndham Danang Golden Bay, Tia Wellness, KOI Resort & Residence Danang, Muong Thanh Group hotels, Avatar, Hai An Beach Hotel & Spa, Belle Maison Parosand Danang, À La Carte Danang Beach, Sel de Mer Hotel & Suites, Alan Sea Hotel Danang, and Cicilia Hotels & Spa Danang.
The program aims to provide a variety of new, attractive, and diverse choices for target market segments, which will assist in welcoming approximately 8.4 million domestic and international visitors to Da Nang in 2024. To accomplish this, the city’s tourism industry intends to launch synchronized and effective communication campaigns. These campaigns will promote the image of an alluring, secure, and welcoming Danang destination where visitors can enjoy and share interesting moments, emotions, and experiences.
