On March 26, a train named “Connecting Central Heritage” was launched in Hue City, Vietnam. The event was organized by the Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR), Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee, and Da Nang City People’s Committee to celebrate the Liberation Day of Thua Thien Hue (March 26, 1975 – March 26, 2024) and Da Nang City (March 29, 1975 – March 29, 2024).

The newly launched train service aims to provide a convenient and reliable transportation link for the people living in Hue and Da Nang. Furthermore, this train ride offers a unique opportunity for tourists to explore both cities’ ancient heritage and modern developments.

During its initial period of operation, the “Central Heritage Connection” train consists of five modern, air-conditioned soft-seat carriages and one community living carriage. This train service is expected to become a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, providing a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all.

The esteemed railway industry is pleased to provide VIP waiting rooms for distinguished passengers at both Da Nang and Hue stations. Visitors are cordially invited during the journey to savor the unique and diverse local cuisine. The train journey takes approximately 3 hours and takes tourists through the breathtaking Hai Van Pass, leading to the charming Da Nang – a place with a long and revered coastline. Vinh, one of the six most stunning beaches globally, is a must-visit destination on this journey. Similarly, in the opposite direction from Da Nang to Hue, visitors will arrive at the heritage land, the ancient capital of Hue. Visitors can relish the majestic and picturesque natural scenery from the train, where the North and South meet. One side is the limitless Truong Son range, and the other is the vast sea.

With two trains departing in the morning and afternoon from Hue to Da Nang and vice versa, esteemed visitors can experience the magical sunrise and sunset on Lang Co Bay, one of the most beautiful bays in the world, on the most exquisite journey ever.

The “Central Heritage Connection” train is a new transportation service that aims to promote tourism in the Central region. On its opening day, the train consists of 10 carriages, including two community carriages, where visitors can enjoy unique cultural and artistic performances and cuisine.

Upon arrival at Hue and Da Nang stations, tourists can easily rent bicycles through an automatic system that requires scanning QR codes. The local government has thoughtfully arranged this system to make it more convenient for visitors to explore the scenic spots in the area. Additionally, Thua Thien Hue province generously offers discounts for organizations and individuals who visit tourist attractions in Hue. This discount applies once for each train ticket.

The train will be equipped with Wi-Fi in April to provide passengers with better service. Introducing this new transportation service is a joint effort of the two cities’ People’s Committees to connect the region and promote tourism. This development opens up opportunities for transportation businesses to work with tourism services that Vietnam Railways will deploy shortly.
