Opening Ceremony of “Danang International Food Festival 2019” (DNIFF2019)
Danang International Food Festival 2019 (DNIFF 2019) has been organised for the first time in Danang with the title “The taste of homeland” from 2nd to 6th June 2019 at the Eastern Park of Dragon bridge, Tran Hung Dao Street, Son Tra District.
With the aim to promote local food tourism as well as boosting cultural exchange, with the persmission of Danang People’s Committee, Danang Department of Tourism organises “Danang International Food Festival 2019” from 2nd to 6th June 2019 at the Eastern Park of Dragon Bridge, Tran Hung Dao Street, Son Tra District, Danang City. The festival has honour of having Mr. Thomas Andreas Gugler – the President of World Asscociation of Chefs’ Socieites and 13 brilliant World chefs from Germany, Mexico, Australia, India, China, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, Sweden, the US, Turkey, Greece, Singapore and Malaysia.
The ceremony welcomes Mr. Le Trung Chinh – the Vice Chairman of Danang People’s Committee, Mr. Ngo Quang Vinh – Director of Danang Department of Tourism, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh – Deputy Director of Danang Department of Tourism and other delegates from government departments, units, sponspors and presses in Danang.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh – Deputy Director of Danang Department of Tourism – the Chairman of Danang International Food Festival 2019 (DNIFF 2019) stated: “Within the last few years, Danang has been well-known as a new and attractive destination. It has been recognised by numerous famous user-generated websites, tourism magazines and international tourists as the top leisure destination. Danang International Food Festival 2019 (DNIFF 2019) launched the first time in Danang with various and attractive activities will be a great chance to bridge Vietnam and Danang food with international food.”
Also at the Ceremony, international and local chefs have been awarded medals and flowers from the President of World Association of Chefs’ Socities and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh – Deputy Director of Danang Department of Tourism and Chairman of this festival as the appreciation for their great support.
Within the Ceremony, the Big Dish has been lit up and prepared by the chef from Sri Lanka – Chef Dimuthu Kumarasinghe, the dish Kutto Roti.
Main activities of the festival
The toursits can experience how the World Chefs create their dishes within 5 days of the festival, from buying the ingredients and visit Con Market, preparing Signature Dish of their home countries using the local ingridients and spcies, visiting Ba Na Hills, to attending Food Forum together with speakers – the culinary experts and World Chefs.
Together with 13 booths representing 13 countries, the highlights of this festival is the “Big Dish” prepared by one famous chef who has been chosen by the President of World Asscociation of Chefs’ Societies.
Danang International Food Festival 2019 promises to showcase diners a unique and diverse culinary space and also confirms Danang’s brand as a Destiation for Events and Festivals in Asia.
