DA NANG ORGANIZES A TOURISM PROMOTION PROGRAM IN BUSAN, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, IN 2024
The event was graced by Mr. Lee Jung Sil, Chairman of the Busan Tourism Organization, accompanied by over 50 attendees representing airlines, travel agencies, MICE organizers, and golf course operators.
During the program, information on Da Nang tourism was presented, highlighting new and distinctive tourist offerings such as Bach Dang Walking Street, Nguyen Van Troi Pedestrian Bridge, Da Nang Beach Flower Road, Danang Downtown Entertainment Complex, the debut of the Jetski & Flyboard show, and nightly firework art performances. In light of the affection and backing from Korean tourists towards Da Nang, the city has initiated the “Enjoy Da Nang Again” campaign, scheduled from July 15 through the end of 2024. This campaign aims to provide Korean tourists returning to Da Nang for the second time since 2020 with enhanced and thrilling experiences, offering various souvenirs and special packages as tokens of gratitude for their continued support.
During the first half of 2024, Da Nang hosted 822,765 Korean visitors, representing over 41% of the city’s international visitors. This significant influx can be attributed partly to direct flights from Busan, amounting to 28 weekly flights, which account for 20% of the daily flights from the RoK to Da Nang.
Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, emphasized the city’s commitment to fostering comprehensive collaboration with Busan. Leveraging the direct flight advantage, both cities aim to enhance visitor exchanges by capitalizing on their shared attractions and tourism offerings.
As the Republic of Korea’s largest port city, Busan is renowned for its wide array of tourism offerings, encompassing marine, cultural, cinematic, and culinary experiences. Additionally, it is a city known for hosting significant events that draw many MICE tourists. According to Mr. Lee Jung Sil, Chairman of the Busan Tourism Organization, approximately 80,000 Vietnamese visitors explored Busan in 2023, placing Vietnam among the top 5 markets in Busan alongside Japan, China, Taiwan, and the United States.
