Ngoc Linh Ginseng is one of Vietnam’s most precious endemic medicinal plants, renowned for its exceptional medicinal, economic and cultural value. Revered as a national treasure, it is more than a rare forest product—it is deeply connected to the mountain ecosystem, indigenous knowledge, and the livelihoods and cultural identity of ethnic communities in the Ngoc Linh region.
o honor, promote and unlock the value of Ngoc Linh Ginseng and other valuable medicinal herbs, while fostering investment, cooperation and the sustainable development of the medicinal herb industry, the Da Nang People’s Committee has issued Plan No. 259/KH-UBND dated 25 May 2026 to organize the Da Nang International Festival of Ngoc Linh Ginseng & Medicinal Herbs 2026 under the theme “Ngoc Linh Ginseng – The Essence of the World’s Medicinal Herbs.”
The Festival will take place from 1–3 August 2026 at APEC Park and selected Ngoc Linh Ginseng-growing and medicinal herb areas in Tra Linh, Nam Tra My, Tra Van, Ben Hien, Tra Leng and Tra Tap, Da Nang City, featuring 10 signature activities.

Beyond celebrating this invaluable medicinal plant, the Festival also pays tribute to the traditional knowledge of cultivating, harvesting, processing and using Ngoc Linh Ginseng—recognized as Vietnam’s National Intangible Cultural Heritage. Through a diverse program of cultural, scientific, investment, trade and tourism activities, the Festival creates a platform connecting indigenous knowledge with scientific innovation, cultivation regions with production and markets, while strengthening collaboration among government agencies, researchers, businesses, investors and domestic and international partners.
The Festival also aims to foster a sustainable medicinal herb ecosystem by promoting the development of an integrated value chain spanning cultivation, scientific research, technology transfer, deep processing and commercialization. At the same time, it supports the growth of wellness tourism, health retreats and herbal experiences linked to traditional medicine, contributing to Da Nang’s vision of becoming Vietnam’s leading medicinal herb industry hub with Ngoc Linh Ginseng as its flagship crop.
The Festival is expected to become an annual national and international event, enhancing the global recognition of Ngoc Linh Ginseng while promoting Da Nang as a destination for medicinal herbs, wellness tourism and innovation.
Ten Signature Activities
The Da Nang International Festival of Ngoc Linh Ginseng & Medicinal Herbs 2026 will feature a rich program combining culture, science, investment promotion, trade, tourism and immersive experiences.
Approximately 60 exhibition booths from provinces, enterprises and organizations in Vietnam and abroad will showcase Ngoc Linh Ginseng, other renowned ginseng varieties, medicinal herbs and a wide range of products in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, food, cosmetics and herbal processing technologies.

The Ngoc Linh Ginseng Golf Tournament (2 August), held at Da Nang’s golf course, will connect domestic and international golfers while promoting tourism, trade, investment and the image of Ngoc Linh Ginseng as Vietnam’s treasured medicinal plant.
Ngoc Linh Ginseng Worship Ceremony and the 2nd Ngoc Linh Ginseng Seedling Donation Ceremony (31 July 2026) at the Ngoc Linh Ginseng Temple in Kon Pin Village, Tra Linh Commune, recreating the traditional Xo Dang ritual alongside gong performances, the raising of the Neu bamboo pole and the presentation of ginseng seedlings to disadvantaged households.
Opening Ceremony (1 August 2026) in central Da Nang, featuring a spectacular artistic performance that tells the story of Ngoc Linh Ginseng through the cultural heritage of the Ca Dong, Xo Dang, Bh’noong and Co Tu ethnic groups, combined with contemporary music, multimedia technology and modern stage effects. The ceremony is expected to be broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV) and will include the signing of cooperation agreements on Ngoc Linh Ginseng and medicinal herb development.
Throughout 1–3 August, the Ngoc Linh Ginseng & Medicinal Herb Exhibition Space will introduce visitors to the forest ecosystem, cultivation areas and the people dedicated to preserving Ngoc Linh Ginseng, while displaying premium medicinal herbs and healthcare products from Vietnam and abroad.
Ngoc Linh Ginseng Honouring Day (1 August) featuring the Ngoc Linh Ginseng Competition across different age categories and an auction of award-winning ginseng plants. Auction proceeds will support conservation efforts, community development and scholarships for students in mountainous areas.
“Ngoc Linh Ginseng – Vietnam Ginseng Day” (3 August), a special program envisioned as an annual milestone to celebrate Vietnam’s most valuable native ginseng and raise public awareness of its conservation and sustainable development.
Visitors can also enjoy a variety of interactive experiences, including the “Flavours of the Great Forest” Culinary Space, photo check-in areas, traditional and contemporary music performances, guided visits to Ngoc Linh Ginseng cultivation areas, meetings with local ginseng growers and exploration of the Ngoc Linh Ginseng Market.
The International Scientific Conference on Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Herbs (2 August) will bring together leading scientists, experts, businesses and organizations from Vietnam and abroad to discuss industry development, research achievements, investment opportunities and international cooperation in medicinal herbs.
