Spreading the “Return to Origins” Message to Japanese Travelers
OSAKA, JAPAN – June 20, 2026 – Following the successful destination promotion program held in Tokyo, Da Nang’s tourism sector continued its outreach efforts in Japan by participating in the Tabihaku Travel Expo in Umeda, Osaka 2026, aiming to showcase the city’s tourism offerings to local residents, travelers, and tourism businesses across the Kansai region—one of Vietnam tourism’s key source markets in Japan.

The Tabihaku Travel Expo in Umeda, Osaka 2026 is being organized for the first time by Kansai Airports in collaboration with the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), serving as a platform to connect tourism and aviation stakeholders. The event features more than 100 exhibition booths, attracting approximately 3,000 industry professionals and 4,000 participants attending seminars and discussion sessions. Notably, the dedicated Da Nang tourism seminar reached full capacity, welcoming more than 100 invited industry partners.
Da Nang Brings “Return to Origins” Experiences to Japanese Travelers

At Tabihaku Osaka 2026, Da Nang introduced Japanese visitors to a diverse tourism ecosystem under the overarching theme “Return to Origins”—a travel trend that is increasingly resonating with Japanese travelers seeking meaningful journeys, authentic experiences, and deeper connections with local culture.
Beyond its reputation as a dynamic coastal city known for luxury resorts, world-class golf courses, and modern tourism infrastructure, Da Nang today offers an expanded range of experiences enriched by the cultural, heritage, and natural treasures of Central Vietnam.
Through five experiential themes—Return to Heritage, Return to Tranquility, Return to Nature, Return to Moments, and Return to Palate—visitors are invited to discover traditional craft villages, wellness and healing journeys, pristine natural landscapes, vibrant festivals, and the rich culinary heritage of Quang Nam and Da Nang.
The recent expansion of the destination landscape following the administrative integration of Da Nang and Quang Nam has created a uniquely diverse tourism ecosystem, enabling travelers to experience beaches, heritage sites, culture, nature, and luxury hospitality within a single journey.
Growing Demand for Travel from Japan to Da Nang

Ongoing destination promotion efforts, combined with strengthened air connectivity, are generating positive momentum in the Japanese market.
According to data from Vietnam Airlines in Japan, bookings on direct routes connecting Japan and Da Nang have recorded significant year-on-year growth. In particular, the Kansai (Osaka) – Da Nang route has increased by 116% compared to the same period last year. To meet rising demand, Vietnam Airlines will increase service frequency from four to five flights per week on the Osaka/Kansai–Da Nang route from July 1 to October 24, 2026.
In addition to Osaka, routes linking Da Nang with Tokyo (Narita) and Nagoya continue to show strong growth, further strengthening tourism, trade, and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Japan. The Tokyo/Narita–Da Nang route is scheduled to increase from seven round-trip flights per week to eleven round-trip flights per week.
The Kansai region remains one of Japan’s largest economic, cultural, and tourism hubs and represents a highly promising source market for Da Nang. Participation in Tabihaku Osaka provides an important opportunity for the city to engage directly with consumers, enhance destination awareness, and stimulate future travel demand.rọng để thành phố tiếp cận trực tiếp người tiêu dùng, gia tăng nhận diện thương hiệu điểm đến và thúc đẩy nhu cầu du lịch trong thời gian tới.
