The international passenger terminal (T2) at Da Nang International Airport was recently awarded the prestigious “Welcome Chinese” Certification for the high-quality services provided to Chinese tourists. This certification, granted by the China Tourism Academy (CTA) on December 11, is a testament to the commitment of the airport staff to provide an excellent experience to all its visitors.
Terminal T2 has been ranked Gold, the highest of the “Welcome Chinese” Certificate of China Tourism Academy grades (Silk, Jade, and Gold). This research organization in Beijing has been promoting tourism development in China since its establishment in 2008 under the China National Tourism Administration.
Da Nang International Terminal is the first in Southeast Asia to receive this certification, marking a significant milestone in the airport’s efforts to cater to the needs of its Chinese guests. The terminal implemented several measures to ensure a comfortable and convenient experience for Chinese tourists, including displaying the Chinese language on its signage, flight display screens, restaurant menus, maps, and website. Additionally, the terminal offers free hot water, Chinese-speaking staff, and payment services via UnionPay and WeChat Pay. They also have tax refund counters, making it even more convenient for Chinese tourists.
It is worth noting that other countries, such as Italy (with four airports), France, Russia, Spain, and Saudi Arabia (each with one airport certified), have also received the “Welcome Chinese” certification. The Da Nang International Terminal’s recognition is a testament to its commitment to providing world-class services to all its guests.
The Deputy General Director of Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT), Mr. Do Trong Hau, has affirmed that the airport terminal is the gateway and the first point of contact for international tourists visiting Da Nang. The 4-star Skytrax certification achieved by the terminal will undoubtedly enhance the station’s reputation and promote Da Nang as a welcoming and convenient destination for Chinese tourists. Furthermore, the certification will bring local tourism services closer to this significant market, boosting the city’s tourism sector.
Da Nang International Terminal has undergone significant upgrades, including infrastructure improvements, green space renovation, process optimization, and the development of a suitable utility ecosystem for Muslim target groups, Chinese and Korean tourists, since reopening after the pandemic. The terminal has also introduced new activities and services to provide the best experiences to visitors passing through the terminal, such as developing a multilingual passenger support team, incorporating indigenous culture into the “Heritage Road” performance, and organizing festivals for significant events like Traditional Tet, Children’s Day, Mid-Autumn Festival, National Day, and Christmas.
In March 2023, Da Nang International Terminal achieved the 4-star Skytrax certification, becoming the first terminal in Vietnam to receive this honor. With its spirit of hospitality, the terminal always strives to improve its services and cater to the increasingly diverse needs of international tourists, providing a seamless and memorable experience to visitors passing through the terminal.
