On August 1 and 2, 2026, the Co Co River area and the mini park at the foot of An Bang Bridge will become a vibrant cultural and tourism rendezvous with the Co Co River Festival – Hoi An Tay 2026.
Under the theme “Co Co – The Flow of Heritage”, the festival opens a journey of river-based ecological experiences, traditional craft culture, local cuisine, and community activities rich in identity for both residents and visitors.

Once an important trading route connecting the former Hoi An trading port with old Da Nang, the Co Co River not only preserves the historical imprints of a riverside land, but also embodies distinctive ecological, cultural, and community values. The 2026 festival is held to promote the beauty of the river, introduce local products and traditional craft villages, and create a new tourism product for Hoi An Tay.
Ecological and cultural space by the Co Co River
At the festival, visitors will be immersed in the ecological riverside space of the Co Co River, where the river landscape, community life, and environmental protection spirit are connected through one experiential journey. Festival activities encourage waste sorting at source, reduce the use of single-use plastics, and spread awareness of preserving the riverside landscape.

In addition, the festival area will feature check-in spots and exhibition spaces showcasing riverside fishing tools, ceramic lanterns, signature products of Hoi An Tay, the Hoi An door-eye collection by collector Bao Ly, the floodwood collection of Lang Cui Lu, and the bamboo-root collection of Phuong Do. This is an opportunity for visitors to feel more deeply the rustic, creative, and memory-rich beauty of the riverside land.

The countryside market space not only offers shopping and culinary experiences, but also evokes the familiar daily life of local residents. From rustic flavours to handmade products, each booth is a vivid slice of the life, culture, and craftsmanship of the people of Hoi An Tay.
Traditional craft demonstrations and community art
The Co Co River Festival – Hoi An Tay 2026 will also feature a wide range of cultural and traditional craft demonstrations. Visitors can watch fishing net casting, net weaving, pottery making, and local food preparation; join folk song exchanges, bai choi and ho khoan performances; and enjoy art performances about the Co Co River and the land and people of Hoi An Tay.
In particular, the opening programme themed “Co Co River: Past – Present – Aspirations for the Future” will be staged along a narrative flow from tradition to modernity, recreating the river’s history, rural cultural life, and the aspiration to develop tourism along the Co Co River. The opening sail-hoisting ritual, floating lantern ceremony, and boat departure are expected to create an emotional moment on the opening night.

River experiences and outdoor activities
Taking advantage of its riverside setting, the festival offers a variety of attractive eco-tourism experiences. Visitors can join boat and sampan tours, subject to actual conditions; enjoy river and sea specialties and music aboard a large boat in the “Co Co Moon River” programme; watch sailboat and kayak performances; and take part in folk games such as clay pot breaking and net-weaving contests.
Activities for families and children
More than a cultural and tourism festival, the event is also a community space for families. On August 2, children can join a painting contest on traditional kites under the theme “I Love the Co Co River of My Hometown”. This activity helps nurture love for the homeland, pride in the river, and environmental awareness among the younger generation.
In addition, folk dance performances, cultural exchanges among residential groups and community associations, and traditional games will create a warm, joyful atmosphere that connects local residents with visitors.
