The Department of Tourism in Da Nang City, Da Nang Port Joint Stock Company, Da Nang Port Border Guard, and Destination Asia Tour Operator hosted over 2000 cruise tourists for New Year 2024 in Da Nang.
The Westerdam docks at Tien Sa Port in Da Nang on January 2, 2024. This will mark the first time an international cruise ship has arrived at Tien Sa Port in the new year.
Following the warm welcome of the first air visitors to Da Nang on January 1, 2024, the Department of Tourism in Da Nang City will continue to extend a warm welcome to visitors arriving by ship on January 2, 2024. This will include lion dance activities and giving flowers and souvenirs to promote tourism in the city.
Upon arrival in Da Nang at the beginning of the year 2024, the Westerdam ship brought 2000 passengers and 781 crew members, mainly from the Netherlands and other countries, including the UK, France, Italy, Denmark, Hungary, Canada, USA, Korea, Japan, and Australia. Visitors had a day to explore unique tourist destinations in Da Nang, such as Marble Mountain, Linh Ung Pagoda, and the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture.
The Westerdam is a luxurious 5-star cruise ship with classic, opulent features, modern equipment, 11 spacious floors with 14 elevators, three swimming pools, and terraces for ultimate comfort.
In 2023, the city of Da Nang is set to welcome 22 cruise ships carrying 18,000 passengers. According to the calendar of shipping lines registered with the Da Nang Port Joint Stock Company, this number is expected to increase to 45 trips with over 40,000 passengers in 2024.
The promising start to the New Year 2024 is a positive sign for a prosperous year ahead in Da Nang City’s tourism industry.
