On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang City and with the aim to strengthen diplomatic relations between Laos and Vietnam, from March 29th, 2020, the flight route of Vientiane (Laos) – Da Nang will be operated by Lao Airlines with 3 weekly flights on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday on ATR 72 aircraft with 70 seats.
The flight schedule of QV318 indicates the journey departs from Vientiane at 11:10 and arrives in Da Nang at 12:50. Then, the return flight departs from Da Nang at 13:50 and back to Vientiane at 15:30 (flight code QV319).

The launching of the new path Vientiane – Da Nang is the fruit of endless promotional efforts from both sides by a series of events such as roadshows, trade shows, conferences and congress… In addition, the operation of this route not only shortens the geographical gap between both destinations but also meet the higher travel demand of tourists from Lao and North East Thailand to Da Nang.
To stimulate this route, Da Nang Department of Tourism and Lao Airline will organize familiarization trip including the top tour operators, hotels and media to Da Nang and Central Vietnam for tourism investigation as well as business networking with local tourism businesses in Da Nang. In return, Lao Airlines will invite the top agents from Da Nang for a business trip to Vientiane.
Vientiane is the capital of Laos “brother”. The Land of Million Elephants has a long history, borders 10 provinces and shares a common border of 2067Km with Vietnam. Currently, it is convenient for tourists from both countries to travel back and forth by car or air. Still there is a need to offer affordable air fares between Da Nang and Vientiane. Noteworthy, from Vientiane, it is only 45 minutes away by plane or 8-10 hours by car to Luang Prabang, known as the heritage city of Laos and also recognized as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The operation of the route Vientiane (Laos) – Da Nang is an important milestone to improve the economic, cultural and tourism development between Da Nang and the Land of Million Elephants. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh, Deputy Director of Da Nang Department of Tourism, stated: “In 2020 and the following years, the city tourism industry will carry on boosting the promotional tourism activities and the launching of flight routes from ASEAN countries”.
