ENJOY DANANG FESTIVAL 2024 – OPENING CEREMONY OF THE DANANG INTERNATIONAL FIREWORKS FESTIVAL (DIFF 2024) AND INTRODUCTION OF NEW TOURISM PRODUCTS
According to Mr. Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism and Standing Deputy Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, the Enjoy Danang Festival 2024 is an annual city-level event featuring a variety of unique, exciting, and novel cultural, sports, and tourism activities. The festival is designed to attract and serve residents and visitors during the summer tourism season.
EXCITING ACTIVITIES
From July 17 to July 21, 2024, Danang City will host the Enjoy Danang Festival 2024, featuring 14 exciting activities. Highlights include:
The Enjoy Danang Festival 2024 grand opening concert will take place at 7:30 PM on July 17, 2024, at Bien Dong Park, which has a capacity of more than 20,000 guests. The event will showcase renowned singers and artists, choreographed dances, and modern performances, promising an electrifying night to energize the beach atmosphere and create an unforgettable summer experience in Danang.
The Danang International Food Festival is set to captivate visitors from July 17 to 21, 2024. With over 50 food stalls showcasing a rich tapestry of local, regional, and international cuisine, attendees can indulge in renowned dishes representing diverse culinary cultures. From “Mỳ quảng” (Quang noodles) to “Banh xèo” (Vietnamese pancakes), Cao Lau, Pho, various desserts, and street food, the festival promises to delight the senses. Moreover, the event will feature exhibitions and sales of souvenirs, agricultural products, and food items at the OCOP product space, along with captivating cooking demonstrations by artisans and professional chefs.
The Art Kite Festival (July 17-19, 2024) will showcase over 50 giant aerodynamic kites in unique shapes inspired by marine life, soaring over Danang’s beaches and creating a vibrant and colorful spectacle.
Sand Festival (July 17-21, 2024): This event will showcase unique and creative art installations at Pham Van Dong Beach, Ha Khe Beach Park, and the beach park at the end of Nguyen An Ninh Street (Lien Chieu District). Visitors can take photos with themed installations such as basket boats, surfboards, body painting, and neon painting. Additionally, there will be beach volleyball and beach soccer matches to enjoy and a sand-sculpting competition for enthusiastic participants.
The Sailboat Performance scheduled for July 20, 2024, at the Enjoy Danang Festival 2024 will showcase over 15 sailboats parading along the Han River, creating a spectacular display in the coastal city.
Children’s Experience Space (July 17-21, 2024): An expansive play area for children and families to take part in painting and pottery workshops and stone and sand painting. Additionally, there will be water bounce houses and fun beach models for check-in.
Folk Festival (July 19-20, 2024): The Folk Festival takes place at Ha Khe Beach in Thanh Khe District. The event showcases vibrant traditional games of Danang’s coastal fishermen, including fish-carrying relay races, “thúng” shaking, and tug-of-war.
The nightly music and arts program series “Enjoy Danang” is scheduled for July 18-21, 2024. The event will be hosted at Bien Dong Park, Ha Khe Beach Park, at the end of Nguyen An Ninh Street in Lien Chieu District. Renowned singers and artists will present diverse, dynamic, and distinctive performances, including the Larue ♥️ Danang Grand Music Festival, DJ nights, Vietnamese and international folk art shows, and children’s art programs.
For enthusiasts of beach sports and personal challenges, the SUP Festival will be held from July 17-21, 2024, at Man Thai Beach. Additionally, kite surfing, inflatable banana boat canoe, and parachute canoe demonstrations are scheduled for July 17-18, 2024, at My Khe Beach.
Health-conscious visitors seeking to relish the fresh sea air can partake in activities such as the Zumba Performance on July 21, 2024, at Bien Dong Park and the Barefoot Beach Run Competition on July 21, 2024, at My Khe–Pham Van Dong Beach.
A diverse array of street art programs spanning both banks of the Han River will cater to the entertainment needs of locals and tourists, encompassing street dance, Han River dance, street music, Bai Choi singing, brass band performances, magic shows, youth art playground (featuring folk dance, street dance, and hip hop), check-in spaces, street food, traditional instrument ensembles, and an expanded Hai Chau District Lion-Dragon Dance Festival.
Furthermore, the activities at the Bach Dang Walking Street and the park on the east side of Nguyen Van Troi Bridge will showcase landscape decorations for check-ins, street art performances; music shows, street dance parties, book festivals, community spaces, and street food.
RENEWED PRODUCTS AND SERVICES TO ATTRACT TOURISTS
To support the 2024 tourism stimulus program and the Enjoy Danang Festival 2024, visitors can select from special tours in the “Enjoy Danang” Tour Program. These tours offer the opportunity to explore distinctive tourism products, including the Danang Food Tour, Son Tra Peninsula Discovery Tour, Festival Enjoyment Tour, Hoa Vang Ecotourism Tour, Inland Waterway Tour, and more, with appealing promotional packages. The program also encompasses Heritage Connection and Culinary Experience Tours.
Tourist attractions in Danang have enhanced numerous quality products and services to attract visitors. Sun World Ba Na Hills will present a series of world-class shows throughout the summer showcasing renowned artists in circus and magic. Highlights comprise the WOW Kingdom show, a grand circus and magic presentation led by the legendary Maestro Voronin; Fairy Blossom, a spectacular ballet involving nearly 300 artists and acrobats; The Rainbow Show, the first LGBT show in Danang; and The Stellar Show, an exclusive event for elite guests featuring top world artists.
In June 2024, Asia Park will be rebranded as Danang Downtown to become a “sleepless entertainment downtown” featuring vibrant, world-class performances. Noteworthy shows debuting in Danang include a jetski and flyboard water sports show combined with music, lights, and fireworks; circus and magic performances by top international artists; and the Vietnamese Puppet Show at Ầu Ơ Theater with 600 seats. The highlight of Danang Downtown is the “Vui Phết” Danang Night Market (VUI-Fest), with 200 diverse food, specialty, souvenir, and handmade product stalls, along with lively street performances, creating a vibrant shopping, dining, and entertainment space for Danang nights.
At Nui Than Tai Hot Springs Park, the Quang–land Bai Choi Show will be performed every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from June to August 2024, alongside the Jurassic Secret Discovery (July 20-21, 2024).
OPENING OF THE DANANG INTERNATIONAL FIREWORKS FESTIVAL – DIFF 2024
The opening night of DIFF 2024 will take place on the evening of June 8, 2024, with the theme “Made of Unique Cultural”. Held at the Han River fireworks stage, the opening night will feature a showdown between the defending DIFF 2023 champion team, ArtEventia from France, and the host team from Danang, representing Vietnam. ArtEventia will present a performance named “Dance of the Dragon”, inspired by the legendary dragon with light shows embodying fire culture, Latin culture, and distinct French touches. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese team will present an elaborate light show titled “Dance of the Sky”, featuring a symphony of over 4,000 fireworks combined with hundreds of different color effects.
The opening night of DIFF 2024 will also feature a vibrant art program with performances by renowned singers such as Vietnam’s music diva Tung Duong, Trang Phap – the newly crowned champion of “Sisters Who Make Waves 2023” (Vietnamese version), “Sao Mai 2015” singer Hong Duyen, and “Sao Mai 2022” champion Minh Ngoc.
Subsequent nights will see competitions between the following teams:
Italy vs. USA (June 15) – “Made of Nature Wisdom”
Germany vs. Poland (June 22) – “Made of Love Inspiration”
China vs. Finland (June 29) – “Made of Fairy Tales”
The final night will be on July 13 with the theme “Made of Young Generation” As usual, each team will have 20-22 minutes to perform.
DIFF 2024 marks the 12th time the Han River has held the Danang International Fireworks Festival, establishing Danang as a premier festival and event destination in Asia.
