On 9 and 10 February 2024, the esteemed 5-star Dream Cruise ship will bring over 1800 tourists to Tien Sa Port to visit the charming city of Da Nang. This will be the first group of international tourists to arrive by ship in Da Nang during the auspicious Lunar New Year of 2024.
The Department of Tourism of Da Nang City is working in close collaboration with Da Nang Port Joint Stock Company, Da Nang Port Border Guard, and the esteemed Khang Huy Holiday Vietnam Tourism Co., Ltd. to extend a warm welcome to the first cruise ship of Tet 2024 at Tien Sa Port. The Dream Cruise, carrying more than 1800 Chinese guests, will be greeted with a warm welcome, complete with traditional lion dance activities, flowers, and unique travel souvenirs. During their two-day stay, these visitors will have the opportunity to experience the beauty of Da Nang’s attractions, including the Marble Mountains, Linh Ung – Son Tra Pagoda, and the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture…
The Dream Cruise ship is a top-of-the-line luxury yacht with impressive dimensions of 261.31m in length, 32.25m in width, and a speed of 22 knots. It boasts comfortable furnishings and modern equipment, including 16 floors, 1,008 rooms, and the ability to serve over 2,016 guests.
Da Nang City’s strategic location on a crucial maritime traffic route in Asia makes it an ideal destination for international cruise lines. The city is a suitable hub for connecting cruise routes globally, where many international cruise lines bring their ships to explore.
According to Mr. Tan Van Vuong, the Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism, cruise passengers are high-spending visitors and an essential source of visitors for the city’s tourism industry. Therefore, the tourism industry of Da Nang is focused on promoting and diversifying its offerings to cater to the needs, tastes, and preferences of cruise tourists and enhance their experiences.
2023, the city is expected to welcome 22 cruise liners with over 18,000 passengers. According to the calendar of tour operators operating cruise passengers to Da Nang, over 45 cruise ships are expected to arrive at Tien Sa Port, Da Nang, in 2024, and it is estimated to receive over 50,000 visitors. This positive signal indicates a prosperous new year for Da Nang’s tourism industry. With its experience gained in recent years and fully equipped infrastructure ensuring quality, the tourism industry of Da Nang is always ready to welcome a large number of international cruise passengers in 2024.
During the Lunar New Year of 2024, the number of visitors to Da Nang is estimated to be nearly 362,000, up 23% from the same period in 2023. Among these, international visitors are expected to be 172,000, while domestic visitors are estimated at 190,000. According to information from Da Nang International Airport, around 894 flights to Da Nang are planned during the Lunar New Year of 2024 (from 08/02/2024 to 14/02/2024), up 16% from last year.
