DA NANG IS PROMOTED AS A TOP DESTINATION FOR INDIAN VISITORS AT THE SATTE FAIR 2024
The Da Nang Department of Tourism has initiated organizing the Da Nang FantastiCity Booth at South Asia’s Travel & Tourism Exchange (SATTE) 2024 to promote Da Nang as a destination for MICE and wedding tourism for Indian tourists.
It is an honor for Da Nang to participate in this prestigious event for the second time, which is scheduled to take place at the India Expo Mart Exhibition Center, Greater Noida, India, from February 22-24, 2024. SATTE is considered the largest fair in South Asia, attracting more than 48,000 attendees, 1,800 exhibitors, and more than 800 international and domestic Indian buyers from over 120 countries. We are delighted to share that the Indian market holds fourth place in the top 10 global tourist markets for Da Nang. The Da Nang FantastiCity booth, covering an area of 70m2 and located at B116, Hall 10, features nearly 20 tourism businesses from Da Nang and Vietnam in general, almost doubling its size (1.6 times) compared to the previous year’s booth. We hope this event will strengthen our countries’ relationship and create new collaboration opportunities in the tourism industry.
India is a vital market for tourism in Da Nang, particularly during the recovery period, and is anticipated to continue growing. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism, expressed her thoughts on participating in the SATTE Fair 2024. She highlighted that the event will help promote the destination and strengthen partnerships with tourism stakeholders. She also mentioned that there will be several promotional activities, particularly for MICE tourism, golf, and weddings, which will further enhance Da Nang’s attractiveness and trends.
In 2023, the Indian market is expected to rank fourth among the top 10 international tourist markets, behind Korea, Thailand, and China. The number of Indian visitors to Da Nang in 2023 is projected to exceed 87,000, more than five times the number of Indian visitors in 2019.
With Indian visitors accounting for 60% of the total number of Indian visitors to Vietnam, Da Nang is considered an essential destination in Vietnam, even if there isn’t a direct flight between Da Nang and India’s metropolises.
The booth opening program was held on February 22, 2024. The presence and congratulations of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to India, graced it. The Ambassador expressed his continued support for localities in programs promoting cooperation and socio-economic development between Vietnam and India.
Various engaging activities such as experiencing traditional Ao Dai, Vietnamese coffee, prize draws, check-in photos, and souvenirs are organized within a specific time frame to encourage partners to come together and better understand the destination.
The SATTE Fair provides a valuable opportunity for Da Nang to collaborate with airlines and strengthen partnerships, thus promoting direct flights from India to Da Nang. Furthermore, the tourism industry in Da Nang is meeting with wedding tourism organizations and event organizers to launch wedding tourism in Da Nang in 2024, immediately after the 2024 traditional New Year.
Businesses view the SATTE Fair as a favorable time to foster cooperation and business activities with Indian partners. As such, it is considered to be a highly beneficial event. The tourism promotion program in India through participating in the Da Nang booth at the SATTE Fair received enthusiastic participation from various units, including Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Exploitation Joint Stock Company AHT, Furama Resort Danang, Terra Indochina, Indochina Unique Tourist, Citadines Pearl Hoi An, Premier Village Danang Resort, Viet Experiences Travel, Red Beach Travel, Asia DMC, Danang Mikazuki Japanese Resorts & Spa, Danang Marriott Resort and Spa, New World Phu Quoc Resort, Impression Asia Tours, Indochina Charm Tours, HA Travel, Ascott, VKSTAR JSC- Ao Dai Show, Trek Asia Travel, and Vinpearl.
