Da Nang International Terminal has become the first and only terminal in Vietnam to receive a 5-star Skytrax standard on January 1, 2024. The achievement resulted from the continuous efforts to improve facilities and enhance the passenger experience.

On January 1st, 2024, Da Nang International Terminal achieved the Skytrax 5-star standard, making it the first and only terminal in Vietnam to receive this prestigious rating. The rating was awarded based on the terminal’s exceptional facilities, such as business class lounges, baby strollers, children’s play areas, mother and baby rooms, shopping strollers, prayer rooms, self-check-in kiosks, self-baggage drop kiosks, automatic immigration gates, and automatic departure gates.

Skytrax is an independent organization headquartered in London that was founded in 1989. It investigates and researches various products, services, and passengers of airlines, airline alliances, airports, and air transport suppliers. The company manages two global survey and evaluation programs to assess airline and airport service quality. Skytrax has been at the forefront of this industry for the past 16 years and is widely recognized for its expertise in evaluating airlines and airports.
In 2023, Skytrax has awarded only 19 airports and three airport terminals globally with a 5-star rating. With great pleasure, we announce Da Nang International Terminal as one of the few to have earned this prestigious rating. Initially awarded a 4-star rating in March 2023, the airport was promoted to a 5-star rating within nine months. This achievement is a testament to the airport’s unwavering commitment to continually improving its infrastructure and service offerings and investing in staff training and development to enhance passenger experience.
Da Nang International Terminal has prioritized promoting Vietnamese culture, as evidenced by its installation of miniatures imbued with local identity and by incorporating traditional elements into its art performances, such as the “Heritage Road” program. The airport’s focus on meeting global aviation standards while providing exceptional service to passengers has made it a standout in the industry.

The following message expresses our sincere appreciation to the local government agencies and organizations that have played a significant role in the success of Da Nang International Terminal. We are grateful for the timely attention, support, and direction from the People’s Committee of Da Nang City and the active cooperation of the Department of Tourism and the Central Airport Authority.
The airport border gate police also gave their efforts to shorten the time for immigration and exit procedures and to the Airport Customs Department for their project “Smiles of Customs”, which aims to ensure friendliness, transparency, professionalism, and efficiency of officials. The Aviation Security Center has also demonstrated professionalism in ensuring the safety of passengers and the terminal.
The seamless coordination between local authorities and units operating in the station has been remarkable, providing visitors with exceptional experiences right from the start of their journey in Da Nang City. Mr Do Trong Hau, Deputy Director of AHT, thanks all local government agencies, related units, and organizations for their constant support and guidance on the journey toward improvement and success. Without their invaluable contributions, the terminal would not have been able to achieve the outstanding accomplishments it has today.

Not only certified by Skytrax, on December 12, 2023, the Da Nang International Airport was honored to become the first terminal in Southeast Asia to be rated Gold – the highest class according to the prestigious “Welcome Chinese” Certification for the high-quality services provided to Chinese tourists. This certification, granted by the China Tourism Academy (CTA) on December 11, is a testament to the commitment of the airport staff to provide an excellent experience to all its visitors.
Mr. Do Trong Hau is confident that despite achieving high rankings on various world scales, the Da Nang International Terminal has immense potential for further development and improvement. In its 2024 strategic plan, the terminal will prioritize putting passengers at the center and position itself as an essential destination in Da Nang City. The terminal will invest significantly in plans and items that promise visitors better experiences, meet global quality standards, and consistently receive positive assessments.
