The 4th Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF IV) officially announces the “Vietnamese Films in Competition” section, featuring 11 outstanding works that represent prominent trends in contemporary Vietnamese cinema.
Created by filmmakers from different generations and spanning a wide range of genres, the films reflect the movements of society, family life, spirituality, historical memory, and cultural identity in the context of Vietnam today.
In recent years, Vietnamese cinema has recorded significant progress in production scale, box-office performance, and diversity in storytelling language and genres. Alongside notable commercial successes, more filmmakers are exploring new approaches to history, culture, and contemporary issues, contributing to a richer national cinematic landscape.
All screenings in the Vietnamese Films in Competition section will take place at CGV Vinh Trung, 4th Floor, GO! Shopping Mall, 255–257 Hung Vuong Street, Thanh Khe Ward, Da Nang City.
Bringing together representative works from this dynamic period, the “Vietnamese Films in Competition” section at DANAFF IV offers a multifaceted picture of contemporary Vietnamese cinema while reflecting filmmakers’ continuous efforts to seek new voices and forms of expression.
