Da Nang International Airport is a military and civilian airport [1] . As of January 2020, it provided access to 39 international routes with 590 weekly flights and ten domestic routes with 594 weekly flights [2]. The airport has received recognition for its high-quality service, earning a place among the “Top 10 Most Improved Airports in the world” as per a 2020 Skytrax survey [3] . Moreover, it has been honored with the Airport Health Accreditation from the Airports Council International (ACI), acknowledging its commitment to upholding stringent health safety standards and implementing effective pandemic prevention measures throughout its operations.

[1] The airport covers a total area of approximately 1,100 hectares, with the airport’s operational area spanning around 850 hectares, including a civilian area of about 150 hectares.

[2] 39 international routes include 25 regular routes (Singapore, Muan, Incheon, Busan, Daegu, Tokyo, Osaka, Hong Kong, Siem Reap, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Macau, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Kuala Lumpur, Zhengzhou, Phnom Penh, Doha, Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai)…; 14 charter routes (Cheongju, Anqing, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Changsha, Chongqing, Hefei, Kunming, Xi’an, Nanning, Jinan, Shijiazhuang, Harbin, Changzhou).

10 domestic routes: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Can Tho, Da Lat, Nha Trang, Buon Ma Thuot, Phu Quoc, Quang Ninh…

Da Nang Port is recognized as a national general and regional hub (Type I). It can emerge as an international gateway in the Central region (Type IA). Tien Sa Port is currently utilized for cargo handling and tourism and is positioned as one of the most strategically located ports in the region. With recent upgrades to its berths, Tien Sa Port can now accommodate cruise ships carrying 5,000 to 5,500 passengers. In 2019, the port welcomed 129,900 passengers on 101 cruise ships, marking a 6.2% increase compared to 2018. Importantly, it has the infrastructure to handle large-scale cruise ships from esteemed cruise lines [4].

The Da Nang Railway Station, located in Thanh Khe District, is vital to the city’s transportation network. As the city’s central station and primary railway hub, it plays a crucial role in connecting Da Nang to other provinces. It is a key stop on the North-South Railway, facilitating connections between Da Nang and other provinces. The station operates local trains on several important routes, including Da Nang – Hue, Da Nang – Quang Binh, Da Nang – Vinh, Da Nang – Quy Nhon, and Da Nang – Ho Chi Minh City, to meet the substantial passenger demand.
