Lao Airlines has resumed its direct route between Vientiane (VTE) and Da Nang (DAD) from March 29, strengthening direct connectivity between Laos and Central Vietnam while expanding access to Da Nang for regional markets.

The route is operated with a frequency of two flights per week (Thursdays and Sundays) using the COMAC C909 aircraft (90 economy-class seats), with a flight duration of approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. According to the schedule, flight QV317 departs from Vientiane at 11:20 and arrives in Da Nang at 12:40, while flight QV318 departs Da Nang at 13:50 and lands in Vientiane at 15:10.

The resumption of the Vientiane – Da Nang route comes at a time when Da Nang continues to enhance its destination appeal, positioning its identity through the “Da Nang return to origin” campaign and leveraging its strengths in beach tourism and high-end resort experiences. This is considered a positive opportunity to expand visitor flows from Laos—a nearby market with convenient travel access and strong potential for short-haul trips.

Notably, the route not only targets the Lao market but also opens access to Northeast Thailand, a densely populated region with a growing demand for international travel. Vientiane can also serve as a convenient transit hub, connecting to other Asian markets through regional networks, thereby increasing visitor flows to Da Nang.

As part of its strategy to diversify international markets, maintaining and expanding direct routes such as Vientiane – Da Nang enhances Da Nang’s flexibility in attracting visitors, gradually extending its reach across ASEAN and reinforcing its position as an accessible destination within the region.

The Vientiane – Da Nang route is therefore expected to contribute to the vibrancy of the Southeast Asian market in 2026, opening up new growth momentum for Da Nang’s tourism in the coming period.
