The 12th season of the Danang International Marathon has successfully concluded, welcoming nearly 7,000 athletes from 72 countries. Participants enjoyed navigating scenic city’s along the beautiful Da Nang coastline, all while benefiting from the city’s pleasant weather. This event has left a lasting impression and contributed to the vibrant atmosphere at Bien Dong Park.

The race was officially ignited in a spirited and vibrant atmosphere. Thousands of athletes, joined by their families and friends from around the globe, gathered with unwavering enthusiasm at 2:00 AM on March 23, 2025. Vo Nguyen Giap Street resonated with cheers and excitement that filled the air.
The 2025 Danang International Marathon saw a record number of international participants, with athletes from 72 countries.

Young athlete Huynh Anh Khoi won the men’s 42KM title with a remarkable finish time of 02:33:55, improving significantly from his 2024 result of 02:37:14.

Second place this year was claimed by Yujiro Daidoji (Japan) with a remarkable time of 2:34:29, closely followed by Le Tan Hi in third at 2:34:24.
Khoi, having recently participated in the Ho Chi Minh City Marathon 2025 and finishing just 17 seconds behind Daidoji, surged forward in the Da Nang race, clinching victory with a commanding 34-second lead. Khoi reflected, “The cool weather and beautiful course in Da Nang fueled my performance. Despite facing health challenges after the 30KM mark, I pushed through from KM38 and women’s strong. It was truly a thrilling competition.”
In women’s 42KM, Pham Thi Binh, known as “The Barefoot Queen”, once again showcased her exceptional talent, defending her championship title with a “tunning finish time” of 3:01:57, breaking her own 20women’srd of 3:10:32. Le Thi Ha (3:02:37) and Nguyen Thi Tra Giang (3:02:51) followed close behind, securing second and third places respectively.

In the 21KM category, the championship titles were claimed by Trieu Thi Binh (female) and Govendarajoo Vimal (male), a dedicated professional runner from Malaysia representing the Arena Malaysia club.

In the 5KM category, first-place finishers were Nguyen Van Khang (male) with a remarkable time of 0:15:15 and Ly Mui Sau (female) at 0:17:50.
Nguyen Van Khang, who also topped the 10KM category at the Ho Chi Minh City Marathon 2025, expressed his desire to push his limits and transition to longer distances like 21KM and eventually 42KM after turning 25. After the race, Khoi and Khang look forward to a week of exporation and adventure in Da Nang.
Participants of the International Marathon, particularly the international athletes, shared their positive impressions of both the event and the vibrant city of Da Nang. Swashed, a passionate runner from Singapore, shared on his personal page: “I truly loved the cool coastal weather! The expo area wasn’t too big but had all the essentials – gels, Crampfix, and sports gear. The Danang International Marathon is perfect for those aiming for another personal record. People in Da Nang are very affordable, and the city offers a refreshing sense of calm. Despite its popularity as a tourist destination, it’s not overly crowded. This is an ideal spot for a budget-friendly holiday. I can’t wait to return and ring the PR bell!”

On March 22, 2025, the event also hosted the Ronny Dash children’s run.

Nearly 300 young runners and their families participated in the 1.5 KM and 500 M challenges, transforming the course into a vibrant sporting festival. After completing their run, children were also led through stretching and recovery exercises.
