After five spectacular competition nights, the qualifiers of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival – DIFF 2025 concluded on June 28 with an electrifying showdown between representatives from Korea and Italy. Despite an unexpected downpour, the skies erupted in a magnificent display of fireworks, music, and artistic expression, leaving spectators exhilarated as the festival approaches its grand finale.
From 7 PM, thousands of eager spectators filled the grandstand, with over 10,000 seats occupied by local and international tourists, residents, and even world-renowned football stars, all drawn to the brilliance of the event.
Under the theme “Powered by innovation”, the fifth and final qualifying night embarked on a journey of creativity and innovation. The rain could not dampen the spirits of the Korean and Italian teams, who elevated audience emotions with breathtaking pyrotechnic surprises over the Han River.
Korea ignited the Han River night with a captivating performance titled “Dance of the Flying Dragon”
Inspired by the symbol of the dragon and the dynamic spirit of Da Nang, their cinematic fireworks story began with the soft notes of “Fanfare”, enveloping the audience in a poetic atmosphere. Each musical chapter flowed seamlessly with layers of vibrant effects, leading to an exhilarating highlight when the beats of G-Dragon’s Home Sweet Home synchronized with explosive bursts in the sky, thrilling the crowd.
Da Nang’s modern, youthful spirit was expressed through a visual language of light. The performance culminated in grandeur with “Undefeated”, an anthem that encapsulates the city’s aspirations in this new era, as dense clusters of fireworks shaped the stunning image of a soaring dragon.
With “Dance of the Flying Dragon,” Faseecom delivered not only a technical masterpiece but also a reflection of cultural identity and artistic expression, illuminating the Han River sky with the essence of Hallyu.
Tourist Ms. Trang from Hanoi expressed her excitement: “Watching the fireworks felt like attending a concert – the music was absolutely thrilling! The combination of fireworks and music was phenomenal. I’ll definitely return to DIFF next year!”
Italy’s renowned Martarello Group S.R.L. illuminated the Han River with their enchanting “Symphony of Light – Opening the Future”
Their performance seamlessly transitioned from intense rock to operatic melodies, taking spectators on a mesmerizing journey. With powerful cinematic tracks like “Blood Sport” and “Aphelion”, the performance created an exhilarating heartbeat of excitement across the city.
As lively jazz melodies emerged, fireworks cascaded like waterfalls of light, evoking joy with familiar Vietnamese songs. The climax unfolded with the timeless opera piece “Time to Say Goodbye” by Andrea Bocelli, culminating in a magnificent “rain of light” that enveloped the grandstand, showcasing the Italian team’s world-class artistry and their vision of a bold, forward-looking Da Nang.
Local spectator Mr. Hoang Ha remarked: “Italy always puts on an extraordinary show. This year has so many impressive teams – from Viet Nam’s Ministry of National Defense to Portugal and China. I’m truly excited for the finals; my family has already bought our tickets!”
The magic of DIFF 2025 extended beyond the sky. The stage along the Han River dazzled with a stunning array of choreographed performances. Powerful vocals from “beauty queen” Duong Hoang Yen, singer Le Anh Dung, and captivating dance acts from dancesport champion Hoang My An and top-tier dance troupes enhanced the spectacle further.
