More than 8 months organizing, (07/13/2013 – 03/20/2014), Da Nang Tourism Logo & Slogan Contest has received 1004 submissions of 511 designers from 38 provinces and cities nationwide. In particular, Da Nang has 210 submissions (21%), Ho Chi Minh City 195 submissions (19%), and Ha Noi 134 submissions (13%).The other provinces 465 (47%).
Particularly during the extension time of the contest (11/15/2014 – 03/20/2014), there was 511 designs submitted.
After 03/24/2014, the judges has chosen the best 20 designs to the next round to find the most suitable logo and slogan for Danang tourism.
On April 23, 2014, judges together with organizing committee board decided to choose the first and 3 consolation prizes from the top 20.
The First Prize of Da Nang Tourism Logo & Slogan Contest belongs to the designer Doan Hai Tu (168). The design had been chosen with all agreement from the judges, with the experts in art, brand and tourism designing, in which Mr. Vi Kien Thanh, head of judges, is the Head of Agency for Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition.
Members from organizing board evaluate the winning logo and slogan having the potential to develop the Brand Identity System for Danang tourism in the near future.
Judges and Organizing Members agreed that there should be further adjustment to perfect the logo design to be suitable for promoting Danang tourism, particularly in international markets. Beside working together with the designer to implement the brand identity system, the Department of Danang Culture, Sports and Tourism intend to work with media companies to build the branding strategy with the new logo and slogan
The copyright transfer contract between designer Doan Hai Tu and Mr.Tran Chi Cuong, Deputy Director of Danang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism was signed in the closing ceremony has officially announced the new logo and slogan for Danang tourism.
During the competition, to promote the contest, an exhibition of 20 final logo designs was carried out from 06 – 16/04/2014 and recieved 1159 comments and feedback from public.
