On January 1, 2025, the Da Nang Department of Tourism is pleased to host welcoming events for nearly 3,000 tourists arriving in Danang by air and sea.
Danang’s Vibrant Welcome for Air Travelers
From 8:00 to 10:00 AM, a vibrant welcome event for travelers was held at Danang International Airport’s domestic and international arrival terminals. This initiative was a testament to the collaborative efforts of the Da Nang Department of Tourism (DDT) and key partners, including Da Nang International Airport and the Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company.
Esteemed representatives from the leadership of DDT, the Central Airport Authority, Danang International Airport, the Danang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company, the Danang Tourism Association, and various airlines participated in the event.
To provide a memorable commencement to the New Year, the program featured engaging artistic performances such as traditional Vietnamese music and dance and distributing New Year greeting cards alongside thoughtful gifts. These included vouchers for renowned attractions such as Danang Downtown, Sun World Ba Na Hills, the Ao Dai Show, and the Than Tai Hot Spring Park.
The inaugural event serves as an encouraging beginning for the tourism sector. In partnership with local businesses this year, the DDT has graciously prepared nearly 1,000 service experience vouchers as tokens of appreciation for the first visitors to arrive in Danang. Notably, at the domestic terminal, three fortunate passengers traveling on Vietnam Airlines flight VN110 from Ho Chi Minh City, which touched down at 8:20 AM, received unique gifts such as handcrafted souvenirs and local delicacies. Meanwhile, the international terminal warmly welcomed approximately 800 tourists from Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong (China) between 9:00 and 10:00 AM.
On the first day of 2025, Danang International Airport successfully accommodated 125 inbound flights, including 57 international ones. Over the New Year holiday period, from December 28, 2024, to January 1, 2025, the airport welcomed an impressive total of more than 600 inbound flights, reflecting a notable 15.6% increase compared to the same timeframe in 2024.
Danang’s Grand Welcome for Cruise Tourists on New Year’s Day
At 6:45 AM, Da Nang warmly welcomed nearly 2,000 tourists from Europe and America who arrived on the Noordam cruise ship, one of four Vista Class vessels operated by Holland America Line. The Noordam, measuring 285.29 meters in length and featuring 11 decks and 924 staterooms, offers a truly luxurious experience for its guests, complete with various restaurants, spas, pools, and entertainment options.
Departing Singapore on December 22, 2024, the Noordam made stops in Thailand and Cambodia before reaching the beautiful shores of Vietnam. During their two-day stay in Danang, visitors engaged in enriching experiences, exploring esteemed attractions such as the Marble Mountains, Linh Ung Pagoda on Son Tra Peninsula, the Cham Sculpture Museum, and the renowned My Khe Beach, as well as enjoying a “xích lô” – cyclo tour of the vibrant city.
According to projections from Da Nang Port, there is an optimistic expectation for a significant increase in cruise visitors to Danang in 2025. Tien Sa Port is anticipated to accommodate 76 cruise ship arrivals, marking an increase of 41 compared to 2024. This growth, which is expected to welcome around 70,000 passengers, reflects an impressive rise of 64% from the previous year, and we are excited about the future of Danang’s tourism industry (Source: Danang Port).
