Lunar New Year’s Eve is always the most emotionally resonant moment of the Tet journey in Da Nang—when the dynamic coastal city joins the countdown together, closing one year and welcoming the next with light, spring colours, and the intimate emotions of reunion.
For the Year of the Horse 2026, Da Nang offers residents and visitors a vibrant, multi-space New Year’s Eve experience through an artistic fireworks display at six locations across the city. Each site becomes a close, accessible “touchpoint” of the New Year’s moment—allowing the joy of the first moments of spring to extend beyond the city centre and ripple through urban areas, suburban districts, and heritage spaces.
The six fireworks locations are as follows:
- Location 1: In front of the Hòa Khánh Ward People’s Committee (Kim Long Nam project site, east of the ward office).
- Location 2: Bạch Đằng Street, Hòa Cường Ward (intersection of Bạch Đằng and Bình Minh 6 streets).
- Location 3: Western Ring Road resettlement area, Dương Lâm 1 village, Hòa Vang Commune.
- Location 4: Con Bap Ecotourism Area, Xuyen Trung Hamlet, Hoi An Ward
- Location 5: March 24 Square, Hùng Vương Street, Bàn Thạch Ward.
- Location 6: Núi Thành Commune Square.
These fireworks sites are thoughtfully distributed to connect the city centre, riverfront areas, suburban zones, and heritage spaces—making it easy for residents and visitors to choose a New Year’s Eve setting that matches their own journey and emotions. Whether amid the lively heart of the city or in more tranquil surroundings, each moment carries a sense of warmth, togetherness, and connection—true to the spirit of Vietnamese Tet in a modern rhythm of life.
The fireworks display will last 15 minutes, from 00:00 to 00:15 on 17 February 2026 (the first day of the Lunar New Year). Featuring non-musical artistic fireworks, the programme honours the pure beauty of light at the moment of transition into the new year. More than 1,000 high-altitude fireworks, combined with nearly 100 low-altitude fireworks rigs, will illuminate the Da Nang sky simultaneously—marking a dignified, peaceful, and meaningful beginning to the Year of the Horse.
Welcoming the New Year in Da Nang is not only about watching fireworks; it is about embracing the full Tet rhythm—strolling through the city on the first night of the year, immersing in festive energy, feeling the harmony between a modern urban landscape and enduring traditions, exchanging New Year wishes, and preserving personal moments along the first journey of spring.
