History rarely exists as a complete narrative. Instead, it often emerges through fragments, material traces, family memories, traditional craft techniques, landscapes, and stories passed down through generations. From different starting points, Thai artists Panachai Chaijirarat, Punyisa Silparassamee (Noir Row Art Space), and Marisa Srijunpleang explore history through the search for, collection of, and tracing of remnants from the past.

During this exhibition walkthrough and artist talk, the artists will share how they approach history through seemingly small and ordinary things: a broken piece of pottery, a village, a plant species, a migration route, or a family memory. These objects and places become starting points for questioning and exploring broader historical narratives.
The conversation opens up a dialogue on how artists “remember” a place, a community, or a history through their own interpretations and creative practices.
About the artists

1. Marisa Srijunpleang (Thailand)
Marisa Srijunpleang (b. 1993, Surin, Thailand) explores the Thai–Cambodian border through family histories and the enduring legacies of war. Her practice draws on field research, oral histories, plants, Indigenous knowledge, rituals, and found objects. Working across photography, sculpture, video, and installation, she examines the relationships between history, memory, and the transformation of landscapes. In 2023, she received the Granted Award from Early Year Project #6, organised by the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC), and was selected for the Singapore Art Museum’s SAM Residency in 2026.

2. Noir Row Art Space – Panachai Chaijirarat and Punyisa Silparassamee (Thailand)
NOIR ROW ART SPACE is a contemporary art space in Udon Thani, northeastern Thailand, founded in late 2017 by artists Panachai Chaijirarat and Punyisa Sinraparatsamee. It promotes contemporary art while connecting creative practices with local history, culture, and knowledge. Operating as a multidisciplinary hub, the space hosts exhibitions, workshops, seminars, and film screenings, while developing an object-based archive and site-specific projects. Its notable initiatives include PARALLEL: The Ramasun Station Art Trail (2018) and PARALLEL 2: Interzone (2025), fostering collaborations and networks that extend from the local community to the international art scene.
