Non-Nuoc – Ngu Hanh Son Stone Carving Memory Museum was established to preserve an important part of memory and introduce people to the Non-Nuoc stone carving village through various periods.
Address: R1-R12 Truong Sa Street, Hoa Hai ward, Ngu Hanh Son district, Da Nang.
The stone carving tradition near the Marble Mountains is intricately linked to the mountains, akin to a shadow. Consequently, the museum plays a modest yet significant role in preserving and advancing both the tangible and intangible cultural heritage associated with the Marble Mountains.
The Non Nuoc – Ngu Hanh Son Stone Carving Memory Museum officially opened on April 24, 2023.
The museum encompasses an area of over 2000 square meters and is situated at the base of Thuy Son Mountain, at the intersection of Huyen Tran Cong Chua and Truong Sa streets. Its strategic location makes it easily accessible for visitors on heritage and scenic tours of Central Vietnam, such as Hue – Hoi An – My Son – Son Tra – Marble Mountains.
Featuring a dual space, the museum comprises an indoor area spanning over 700 square meters, which showcases a diverse collection of artifacts, traditional crafting tools, and valuable products. The outdoor space offers a relaxed setting, allowing visitors to take a break, savor refreshments, and admire the picturesque view of the mountains and sea from the “Trăng nước xưa” café.
Visiting the museum offers guests a vivid and nostalgic experience of the enduring legacy of one of Vietnam’s most distinctive craft villages. It provides insights into the craft village’s historical formation, traditional practices, and significant contributions.
During their museum exploration, visitors will acquire knowledge about various types of stone materials and can compare traditional handmade techniques with modern CNC technology. They can also differentiate between products crafted from natural stone and those made from artificial stone.
Furthermore, by patronizing the museum, visitors play a crucial role in preserving the heritage of the past and supporting present and future generations in enhancing their material well-being without compromising their spiritual enrichment. This collective effort contributes to fostering a life guided by the principles of “Truth – Goodness – Beauty.”
