Danang Fine Arts Museum is founded on 29th July 2014, with the mission to preserve, promote and showcase the art heritage values of Danang and the region.
Danang Fine Arts Museum
Located on 78 Le Duan, Thach Thang Ward, Hai Chau District, Danang, Danang Fine Arts Museum is currently preserving and displaying more than 1000 pieces of modern art, folk and traditional craft products.
In the process of collecting their pieces, The Museum always receive help from Vietnam Art Association and Arts – Photography Exhibition Association.
Especially, many sculptors, artists and collectors in the city have donated valuable works to the Museum. Therefore, Danang Fine Arts Museum is not only a place where the masterpieces are collected, preserved and promote art values, but also where national and international artists can join to exchange their interests and passion for art.
Danang Fine Arts Museum has 3 levels, with total display area of 1,185 m2 , which used to be Danang Museum of History. The terrace is decorated with flower plants, bring visitors a fresh, relaxing experience during their visit.
Level 1
Level 1 includes reception area, temporary exhibitions and kid area.
The reception area is to welcome visitors and provide necessary information on the museum. Presented here is a bronze embossment of 5m x 3m in size, engraved by the best artists on the topic of the development of arts in Danang and Central – Highlands area.
The temporary exhibition area is an attractive corner of the Museum where the topics, contents and displays are changed every month with a new exhibition.
In addition, the display and art exploration for kids area is an exciting corner for the young visitors to experience the young artists’ pieces of awards in the city and also all over the country.
Level 2
Level 2 will introduce 5 topics of contemporary art of Danang and Vietnam, including the best and most representative pieces in lacquer, oil, silk, paintings and sculptures… and war topic.
The pieces are are unique and creative, some are abstract and can trigger the imagination of observers.
This is also a great check-in spot for young people of Danang for its elegant and artistic corner.
Level 3
Level 3 displays and introduces old, folk art with many traditional handcrafts of Danang and Central- Highlands area such as floral patterns, costumes, traditional textiles, wooden sculptures, religious crafts, ethnic arts of Truong Son – Tay Nguyen area, Tuong art performance masks and applied traditional art crafts such as stones, ceramics, wooden pieces…
This is a great cultural destination for Danang locals as well as domestic and international tourists. It is also a great place for artists from Danang and the region to meet and hang out.
