At the Da Nang site, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh and Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi co-chaired the Conference.
According to the report of the MCST, although 2025 took place amid many complex global and domestic fluctuations, the culture, sports and tourism sector made great efforts to overcome difficulties and achieved comprehensive results, making positive contributions to economic growth, strengthening the spiritual foundation of society, and promoting national cultural soft power.
In the cultural sector, efforts to build and improve institutions continued to be strengthened. A notable highlight was the sector’s role in completing the dossier submitted to the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee for reporting to the Politburo to issue a Resolution on the development of Vietnamese culture, creating a basis to remove “bottlenecks,” expand development space, and position culture and people as regulators for sustainable development.
Activities commemorating major national holidays were organized on a large scale and with solemnity, creating strong social impact, inspiring national pride, and reinforcing public confidence. Literature, arts, and cinema continued to flourish, with many works of high ideological and artistic value, including films achieving high box office revenues, contributing to the development of cultural industries.
The work of conservation, restoration, and preservation of relics was implemented synchronously and promptly, contributing to safeguarding and promoting the nation’s historical and cultural values. In tourism, 2025 recorded impressive recovery and growth. International arrivals to Viet Nam were estimated at 21.5 million, while domestic tourists reached approximately 135 million. Total tourism revenue was estimated at around VND 1 quadrillion. Tourism continued to affirm its role as a bright spot in the socio-economic landscape, contributing steadily 6–8% of GDP annually during the 2021–2025 period.

In Da Nang City, 2025 saw the successful organization of many large-scale political, cultural, sports and tourism events, creating strong impressions and wide-reaching impact, such as major national and local commemorations; distinctive art programs; the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival; the Da Nang Asian Film Festival; the IRONMAN 70.3 competition; the Danang Food Tour; and the Hoi An International Choir Competition.
Efforts to conserve and promote cultural heritage were given strong attention, especially for the Hoi An Ancient Town and the My Son Temple Complex, with many heritage sites and national treasures recognized.
Sports and tourism activities continued to develop dynamically; the Da Nang sports delegation won 1,138 medals, including six gold medals at the 33rd SEA Games.
Tourism recorded strong growth with more than 17.3 million overnight visitors, generating revenue of nearly VND 60 trillion.
Information and press work received due attention, effectively serving leadership direction and administration. The city is currently focusing on organizing activities to celebrate the Party and welcome Spring of the Year of the Horse 2026, welcome the New Year 2026, and intensify communication in preparation for the 14th National Party Congress and the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term.

Delivering directives at the Conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended and congratulated the culture, sports and tourism sector on its outstanding results and comprehensive growth in 2025 and throughout the 2021–2025 term, making important contributions to the country’s proud overall achievements.
The Prime Minister affirmed that the sector’s outstanding achievements clearly demonstrate the increasingly affirmed role and position of culture, sports and tourism in the cause of rapid and sustainable national development.
The Prime Minister requested that, entering 2026 with many major political events of the country, the sector must remain persistent, steadfast, determined and decisive in implementing assigned goals and tasks, following the motto: “Innovative thinking, decisive action, substantive results, avoiding achievement-driven formalism.”
Management thinking must continue to be renewed, with institutional improvement as the breakthrough, digital transformation and science and technology as the driving forces; mobilizing and effectively using resources; promoting public–private partnerships; and developing the sector toward the orientation of “competitive institutions, modern infrastructure, smart people, global connectivity, outstanding achievements, streamlined apparatus, people as beneficiaries, and admiration from international friends.”
The Prime Minister emphasized the goal of building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity; focusing on creating a healthy cultural environment; improving the quality of information, journalism, and communications; and firmly safeguarding the Party’s ideological foundation.
At the same time, sports must be developed comprehensively in association with improving public health, and tourism must truly become a spearhead economic sector. With the spirit of “words matched by deeds,” the entire sector must implement tasks with clear responsibilities, clear assignments, clear accountability, clear timelines, and clear outcomes, creating substantive change to confidently enter a new era, bringing the country toward prosperity, strength, and ensuring the people’s well-being and happiness.
