Vietnamese Tet in the Son Tra Forest – A Pristine and Serene Cultural Space
Dong Dinh Museum is one of the very few private museums in Vietnam officially licensed to be built and operated within the protected national forest area of Son Tra. The museum preserves and displays ancient ceramic artifacts dating from over 100 years to approximately 2,500 years ago, reflecting the rich historical and cultural depth of the region.

Designed in harmony with its ecological surroundings, the museum provides a space where visitors can momentarily set aside the busyness of early-year routines. Sitting with a warm cup of tea, listening to the gentle forest breeze, and gazing toward the distant sea and city below—each moment here feels like a soft “reset” for the mind. It is Dong Dinh Museum’s way of inviting you to slow down, relax, and recharge with positive energy for a calmer, more balanced, and inspired new year.
Explore the Exhibition Spaces – Touch the Cultural Depth of Tet
A visit to Dong Dinh Museum unfolds as a continuous emotional journey, where exhibition areas are connected by lush green gardens, allowing visitors to relax and reflect before moving to the next space.
At the center stand two traditional nha ruong wooden houses, modeled after the garden houses of the Quang region’s midland areas. Inside, a rich collection of ancient ceramics is displayed, representing the Sa Huynh, Oc Eo, and Champa cultures, various Vietnamese feudal dynasties, as well as Chinese ceramics across different historical periods.
Upstream along But Stream, beneath the canopy of Son Tra’s primeval forest, the Ethnographic House offers an authentic “forest life” experience. Artifacts of Central and Central Highlands ethnic minorities—musical instruments, farming tools, and daily-life objects—are thoughtfully arranged to preserve their original values while telling cultural stories through a contemporary lens.

Facing the sea, the Fishing Village Memory House is constructed from pieces of wooden boats, basket boats, and fishing vessels—like a memory boat carrying the stories of Nam Tho fishing village. From fishing gear to everyday utensils, each artifact quietly recounts the rhythm of coastal life, allowing visitors to connect with the distinctive identity of Da Nang’s fishing communities.
