The Organizing Committee of the 25th International Mathematics Competition (VIMC 2025) has the honour to invite esteemed reporters and journalists to attend and cover VIMC 2025 to be held in Da Nang, Vietnam from August 14 to 19, 2025.
The International Mathematics Competition (IMC) is an annual academic playground held on a rotational basis among member countries, bringing together mathematically gifted students from more than 40 countries and territories around the world. It is one of the most prestigious international mathematics competitions for students of upper primary and lower secondary education.
At the same time, IMC serves as a valuable international platform that offers young mathematical talents the opportunity to challenge themselves, develop their mathematical abilities, engage in academic exchange, foster creativity and advance their potential in mathematical research.
The 25th Vietnam International Mathematics Competition (VIMC 2025) will be held in Da Nang. The Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee has established the Steering Committee for VIMC 2025 headed by Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, the Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee; the Director of the Da Nang Department of Education and Training serves as the Standing Deputy Head of the Steering Committee; other Deputy Heads and members of the Steering Committee include representatives from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Health, the Da Nang Newspaper and Radio – Television, the Da Nang Police Department, the Food Safety Management Authority, the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) and IEG Global Joint Stock Company.
The Director of the Da Nang Department of Education and Training has established the Organizing Committee and seven subcommittees to organize the 25th Vietnam International Mathematics Competition (VIMC 2025), with the purpose of assisting the municipal Steering Committee in directing and inspecting the implementation in accordance with the Competition Organization Plan issued by the Da Nang People’s Committee.
To date, the Da Nang Department of Education and Training has taken the lead and coordinated with relevant departments, agencies and sectors, as well as the Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) and IEG Global Joint Stock Company, to organize the Competition. The respective subcommittees are actively carrying out preparatory tasks to ensure the success of VIMC 2025, leaving a positive and lasting impression of Da Nang in particular, and Vietnam in general, on international friends.
At the 25th Vietnam International Mathematics Competition (VIMC 2025), in addition to the host country Vietnam, delegations from 30 countries and territories will participate, with an estimated 526 student contestants, 181 teachers and 100 international guests.

Duration: From August 14, 2025 to August 19, 2025
Opening Ceremony: 14:00 – 16:00, August 15, 2025
– Participants:
+ EMIC – Key Stage II Division (Upper Primary Education): Students in Grades 5 – 6 of the 2024 – 2025 academic year
+ IWYMIC – Key Stage III Division (Lower Secondary Education): Students in Grades 7 – 8 of the 2024 – 2025 academic year
+ Both divisions include individual and team contests. All participants are required to compete in both formats, encouraging a well-rounded mathematical experience.

+ Individual Contest: 08:30 – 10:30, August 16, 2025
+ Team Contest: 14:00 – 16:30, August 16, 2025
– Closing Ceremony and Awards Ceremony: 14:30 – 17:30, August 18, 2025
