The activity “Picking lucky buds at the start of the year – A joyful spring, radiant smiles” opens the first moments of the New Year in the solemn setting of the heritage site. It is a time for visitors to slow down, offer wishes for peace and prosperity, and clearly feel the unique stillness of My Son in the early days of spring.

Early morning is the ideal time to take part—when the air is fresh, the light is soft, and Tet is felt through a calm and gentle rhythm.

Spring journey among the ancient tower valley

The art programme “Spring journey to the land of ancient towers” leads visitors into a space where history and art converge. Performances staged right among the ancient towers transform the spring visit from simple sightseeing into a full emotional experience—where the essence of heritage is felt through direct presence.

In the early days of spring, the ancient towers appear tranquil and pure, with soft sunlight filtering through each pathway—perfect for strolling, listening to heritage stories, and enjoying artistic performances. As the atmosphere becomes livelier, the Area A towers remain an ideal stop to combine exploration and to sense spring spreading throughout the My Son valley.

Experiencing traditional Cham–Vietnamese crafts

At the My Son Museum, Tet reveals itself in a simple, authentic way. Visitors can try pottery shaping, brocade weaving, and conical hat making—experiencing heritage not only through exhibits, but through each handcrafted motion, where culture is preserved through participation and genuine connection.

This is also a comfortable stop to rest during the outdoor exploration, adding depth and balance to the spring journey.

My Son Sanctuary is located in Thu Bon commune, Da Nang city, nestled in a valley surrounded by Mount Chua. Separated from urban life, it is an ideal destination for spring journeys seeking tranquility and cultural depth.

Distances:
About 70 km from Da Nang city centre
About 40 km from Hoi An

Average travel time is 1.5–2 hours, making it easy to combine within a Da Nang – Hoi An – My Son Tet itinerary.

Suggested plan:
Visitors can depart from Da Nang city centre or Hoi An in the morning, spend half a day exploring the My Son heritage landscape, join cultural activities, experience traditional crafts and local cuisine, then return to Hoi An or continue their spring journey within the day.

My Son Sanctuary is open daily from 6:00 to 17:00 during the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo 2026.
