VNG IRONMAN 70.3 Da Nang 2026 continues to bring together professional athletes, national team members, and prominent figures from Vietnam’s triathlon community. On May 10, athletes will compete along Da Nang’s signature coastal routes on internationally certified race courses, promising an exciting atmosphere for Southeast Asia’s largest multisport event week.

Alongside international athletes, the participation of many outstanding Vietnamese competitors is drawing significant attention from the sports community. Notably, former national swimmer Nguyễn Thị Ánh Viên will join the relay category at VNG IRONMAN 70.3 Da Nang 2026. After earning dozens of SEA Games gold medals and becoming one of Vietnam’s most celebrated swimmers, the former “little mermaid” of Vietnamese sports is now taking on a completely new challenge — bringing with her a spirit of endurance, determination, and inspiration for a healthy and active lifestyle.
No longer competing in the familiar blue lanes of the swimming pool, Nguyễn Thị Ánh Viên’s appearance has become one of the most anticipated highlights of this year’s season. Since retiring from professional competition, she has continued to inspire Vietnam’s sports community through training activities, motivational initiatives, and efforts to promote an active lifestyle among younger generations.

Joining Nguyễn Thị Ánh Viên is national athlete Lâm Quang Nhật — three-time national Sprint triathlon champion — who will make an impressive debut in the individual IRONMAN 70.3 category. Meanwhile, Đặng Quốc Tuấn (Tuna Đặng), currently holding Vietnam’s best full-distance IRONMAN achievement, is also expected to leave a strong mark this season. Familiar names such as Lê Nhật Tài, Hoàng Minh Quân, and female athlete Nguyễn Thị Trà My (MyCa) will also take part, creating a highly competitive race atmosphere and reflecting the growing professionalism and rapid development of triathlon in Vietnam.

VNG IRONMAN Vietnam 2026 and VNG IRONMAN 70.3 Da Nang 2026 mark a special milestone as Vietnam hosts a full-distance IRONMAN race for the first time, while also celebrating the 10th anniversary of IRONMAN 70.3 in Da Nang.
More than 4,700 athletes from over 90 countries and territories are expected to participate in the event week in Da Nang, further affirming the city’s appeal as one of Asia’s leading destinations for sports tourism and international events.
