Hidden in a lush green valley to the west of Da Nang, My Son Sanctuary opens a space where time seems to pause. Ancient red-brick towers rise quietly among the surrounding forests and mountains, while birdsong in the early morning and a veil of mist drifting across the valley create an atmosphere both mysterious and serene – a place where nature, history and spirituality come together in a unique heritage landscape.
Touch tranquillity within a sacred space and the mystical world of Cham art
Visiting My Son Sanctuary today is not only a journey to explore a World Heritage Site, but also an opportunity to touch the deep tranquillity of time itself. In the green valley, where ancient brick towers have silently stood for centuries, visitors can sense the breath of history, the legacy of the ancient Champa civilisation and the surrounding nature that has embraced this sacred valley for more than a thousand years.

Within this setting, art seems to awaken alongside the heritage. Cham cultural performances, artefacts preserving the memory of an ancient civilisation and experiences set within the temple complex together reveal a world that is both mystical and vibrant. The rhythm of the Paranung drum, the graceful movements of the Apsara dance, and sunlight filtering through the aged brick walls blend into a symphony of history and art.

At My Son, heritage is not something to admire from afar. It invites visitors to experience with all the senses – listening to the sounds of the forested mountains, feeling the rhythm of Cham art, and walking slowly among the deep red towers that continue to tell the story of a civilisation that once flourished in this land.
Each step through the valley seems to bring visitors closer to the memory of time – where past and present meet, leaving a feeling that is both mysterious and peacefully unforgettable.
Visiting hours – The most beautiful moments of the heritage valley
My Son Sanctuary welcomes visitors daily from 06:00.
Summer: until 17:30
Winter: until 17:00
Early morning is often considered the most beautiful time to visit. As the first sunlight spreads across the surrounding mountains, ancient towers gradually emerge through the morning mist, creating a scene both mystical and romantic. Walking into the valley at this hour feels like stepping into a world where history is still quietly present.

It is also the perfect moment for visitors to explore the temple groups at a relaxed pace, pause at historic corners for photographs, listen to the wind and experience the distinctive tranquillity of the heritage landscape – a moment many travellers describe as their “Return to Origin moment” at My Son.
Cultural performances – A heritage stage in the heart of the sanctuary
One of the most anticipated experiences at My Son is the Cham cultural performances, presented directly within the heritage landscape. As the rhythm of the Paranung drum echoes through the valley and the Saranai horn rises into the air, graceful Apsara dancers appear before the ancient towers, bringing the spirit of the Champa civilisation vividly back to life.

From 16 March 2026, performance schedules have been adjusted to help visitors easily incorporate them into their exploration.
In the morning, the first show begins at 09:00 at the foot of Tower Group G, a distinctive performance setting where traditional art blends with ancient architecture. Additional performances take place at the Performance House at 09:45, 10:30 and 11:15, offering vibrant cultural showcases throughout the morning.

The artistic atmosphere continues in the afternoon. The first show begins at 14:00 at the Performance House, followed by a 14:45 performance at the foot of Tower Group G, when the afternoon sunlight casts warm tones across the ancient structures, creating a particularly evocative stage setting. The final performance of the day takes place at 16:00 at the Performance House, bringing the heritage journey to a close with traditional music and dance.
Amid the valley’s peaceful landscape, these performances are not merely artistic presentations but immersive experiences where architecture, music and Cham culture come together in a vivid cultural dialogue.
Cham folk singing – Echoes of ancient memories
In addition to the daily performances, visitors can also enjoy Cham folk singing, a cultural experience rich with depth and quiet emotion.

The programme is held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, at:
09:00 in the morning
14:45 in the afternoon
Performances take place at the foot of the slope leading to Tower H.
Within the tranquil atmosphere of the valley, these folk melodies resonate like stories carried through time – narratives of faith, daily life and the enduring culture of the Cham people passed down through generations.
These moments invite visitors to pause a little longer, listen a little more carefully and feel more deeply the mysterious spirit of this heritage landscape.
“Echoes of My Son” – When the heritage valley becomes a living stage
A special highlight of My Son’s cultural programme is “Echoes of My Son”, held on the 15th day of every month in the BCD area.
Performances take place at 09:00 and 14:45, presenting an emotional artistic experience that combines music, dance and storytelling about the once-thriving Champa civilisation of the valley.
When traditional sounds resonate among the ancient towers, the valley transforms into a living heritage stage – where art, history and nature merge into a singular cultural experience.

Discover the My Son Museum – Touch the world of a thousand-year-old art tradition
Beyond the ancient architecture and cultural performances, the journey through My Son also extends to the My Son Museum, home to many valuable artefacts of the Champa civilisation.
Ancient sandstone sculptures, finely carved reliefs and architectural fragments dating back centuries guide visitors into a mysterious artistic world. Each artefact tells stories of belief, art and daily life from the Cham civilisation that once flourished in this sacred valley.
Walking through the museum, visitors do not simply observe heritage – they touch the depth of history and the cultural values preserved across generations.
