As entering 2025, Da Nang’s tourism sector actively engages in various initiatives to attract key international markets. These efforts present valuable opportunities to connect with and develop relationships with potential visitors.
From January 10 to January 13, 2025, Da Nang will welcome a familiarization trip featuring 25 esteemed representatives from leading travel agencies in the Philippines. This initiative, building on the success of our past efforts, is part of a broader promotional campaign to establish direct flights from Manila to Da Nang, offered by Cebu Pacific Air (with seven weekly flights) and Royal Air (with charter flights operating every four days). In 2023 and 2024, Da Nang made significant strides in promoting tourism within the Philippine market by organizing promotional events in Manila and hosting familiarization trips, press trips, and engagements with KOLs to experience and highlight the region’s attractions.
Additionally, from January 13 to January 20, 2025, Da Nang will be honored to host a familiarization trip for representatives from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), comprised of six esteemed professionals from travel companies in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This initiative seeks to bolster Da Nang’s presence in the CIS market while fostering meaningful collaboration between Da Nang’s tourism businesses and travel agencies from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Furthermore, it supports the preparations for forthcoming direct flights from Astana and Almaty to Da Nang, which are anticipated to commence in late March 2025.
Da Nang has established itself as a premier destination for domestic and international travelers, offering a myriad of unique experiences. From picturesque beach resorts to vibrant shopping, engaging entertainment, culinary tourism, and lively festivals, the city has something for everyone. The city has garnered accolades from esteemed international organizations, being recognized as “Asia’s Leading Festival and Event Destination,” ranked among the “Top 11 Best Destinations in Asia,” and most recently, cited by Time Out UK as one of the “8 Must-Visit Destinations in Asia in 2025.” Furthermore, the Michelin Guide has highlighted Da Nang as a distinguished culinary destination for 2025.
In 2024, Da Nang experienced a remarkable increase in tourism, welcoming 10.9 million overnight visitors, marking an impressive 32.8% rise from the previous year. International arrivals reached a record 4.1 million, representing a 36.3% growth compared to 2023. Notably, the Philippines emerged as a significant source market, contributing 80,000 visitors – a substantial eightfold increase from the prior year. The CIS market also demonstrated great potential, driven by stable economies and rising demand for travel to unique and diverse destinations like Da Nang.
Da Nang’s tourism sector is committed to executing comprehensive and effective promotional campaigns. These campaigns are designed to attract 11.9 million visitors by 2025, including 4.8 million international guests and 7.1 million domestic tourists. Our commitment to these campaigns reflects our dedication to promoting Da Nang as a top travel destination.
Key initiatives to launch in 2025 will begin with welcoming the first international flight and cruise ship arrivals on January 1, 2025. The Da Nang Department of Tourism plans to undertake several promotional activities in key global markets during the first quarter of 2025, including:
– Participating in the AIME Trade Show in Australia from February 8–13, 2025.
– Hosting a tourism roadshow in Ahmedabad, India, and attending the SATTE India Trade Show from February 15–22, 2025.
– Welcoming a Australian travel agencies famtrip from March 16–20, 2025.
