IRONMAN VIETNAM: VIETNAM HOSTS THE FIRST FULL-DISTANCE IRONMAN TRIATHLON IN DA NANG
Da Nang, Vietnam / Tampa, Florida (September 23, 2025) – This morning, at the Radisson Hotel Danang, a five-star international-standard hotel located along My Khe Beach, the press conference announcing IRONMAN Vietnam 2026 was successfully held. As the official sponsor of the press conference venue, Radisson Hotel Danang accompanied the event by providing a world-class setting, professional services, and an ideal resort experience for both athletes and visitors coming to Da Nang.
At the press conference, the IRONMAN Group officially announced that Vietnam will, for the first time, host the full-distance IRONMAN triathlon, taking place in Da Nang on May 10, 2026. This marks a significant milestone in the development of endurance sports in the region, while also serving as an opportunity to welcome a large number of athletes from Vietnam and around the world to the vibrant coastal city.
This new event will be held alongside IRONMAN 70.3 Da Nang – a race that has become an annual hallmark of the city since 2015. IRONMAN Vietnam promises to introduce a new challenge for athletes seeking to step up their distance, while also offering an unforgettable experience for visitors coming to Da Nang for the first time.

RACE COURSE INFORMATION
- Swim 3.8 km (2 laps) – East Sea Park: Athletes will start in small, staggered groups to ensure safety and a steady pace. The course follows a triangular route; after 1.9 km, athletes will exit the water to change direction before re-entering to complete the second lap.
- Bike 180 km (2 laps): Starting from Vo Nguyen Giap coastal road with expansive sea views, the course crosses Thuan Phuoc Bridge before leading into the serene countryside fields – an intriguing contrast between the blue ocean and golden rice paddies.
- Run 42.2 km (4 laps): The course runs along the coastline with enthusiastic support from the local community. Each lap includes an out-and-back section, where the ocean breeze and open sea views help athletes maintain their pace as they head toward the finish line at East Sea Park.
Da Nang City – one of Asia’s leading destinations – is nestled between pristine beaches and cultural heritage sites, where modern vibrancy meets traditional values. Here, athletes will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich culture of Central Vietnam, savor world-renowned cuisine, and experience the warmth of local hospitality.
