Exploring Danang by bicycles

With its very own advantages on nature, climate, and terrain, together with a colorful culture of local residents, Danang has great potentials to develop cycling tours as a tourism product in order to grab the attention of tourists, especially internationals.

When I had a chance to bike on the country roads of Danang, it was one of the best feelings in the world. When traveling by car or motorbike, tourists can usually enjoy the beauty along the road at a surface level. However, if they take the chance to bike, they can sneak into the remotest, forgotten corners of a village to explore the simpliest beauty. The winding paths, large enough for only one bike at a time, will lead you to endless green fields, countryside gardens, the canals, the impressive Marble Mountains… Tourists will get speechless at these poetic landscapes, realize the feelings seemingly forgotten in the hustles and bustles of the everyday life.

Rest stops can be anywhere. You can stop by the street, sometimes just to catch an impressive moment. Or you can rest at a local temple, enjoy tea talks with elderly Buddhist priests and indulge in the peacefulness of a countryside afternoon.

Pedalling a bicycle on the country lanes, occasionally tourists get excited everytime the village kids line up along the way and scream “hello”. Sometimes, busy farmers working on the fields also give them friendly waves and big smiles.

Nothing better than a chance to train your muscles and recharge after a tiring working week. On the bikes, chit-chatting and enjoying the landscapes, it feels like the road is much much shorter.
