Amid the complicated spread of COVID-19 outbreak, Da Nang City Party Committee agreed not to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the city’s liberation.
On March 20, Da Nang City Party Committee Office informed about the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the founding of the City Party Committee (March 28, 1930 – March 28, 2020), associated with 45 years of the City Liberation Day. (March 29, 1975 – March 29, 2020).
Accordingly, to commemorate the above-mentioned events, the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee issued a plan on organizing activities to commemorate major holidays and important political events in 2020. The City People’s Committee also issued a plan with many activities such as celebrations, fireworks, exhibition activities, visiting and giving gifts to families of senior cadres, senior revolutionary families, outstanding policy families, etc.
However, on account of the severe widespread of COVID-19 epidemic, under the direction of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and the Prime Minister on strict implementation of measures to prevent and control epidemics, especially restricting public gatherings, Permanent Secretary of Da Nang City Party Committee will not hold the celebrations, fireworks, meeting schedules and exhibitions on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the City Party Committee and 45 years of City Liberation Day.
Da Nang City Party Committee suggested all levels of Party Committee, government, front and socio-political organizations to strengthen the propaganda on significance and achievements during 90 years of building and developing Da Nang City Party Committee and 45 years of Da Nang city Liberation.
Thereby reviewing the heroic tradition, promoting the spirit of solidarity, overcoming difficulties and challenges, especially in the epidemic situation. Striving to complete the highest results of the resolution on the directions and tasks in 2020, Resolution of the XXI Congress of the City Party Committee, implementing Resolution 43 of the Politburo aimed to welcome the Party congresses at all levels and the XIII Party Congress.
Da Nang City Party Committee requested the units organizing visits and giving gifts for families of senior revolutionary officials, families of martyrs and characteristic policies families. Meanwhile, there shall organize visits and memorials for heroes and martyrs at the monument and martyrs cemetery in the city.
