From April 2026, the first flights from Russia and CIS markets have officially been launched to Da Nang, marking the recovery and expansion of air connectivity with promising international markets. These routes are operated in coordination with travel companies and airlines, contributing to diversifying visitor sources and supporting the city’s tourism growth goals in 2026.

Specifically, at 08:40 on April 13, 2026, flight VJ55 from Astana (Kazakhstan), operated by VietJet Air in collaboration with Crystal Bay, will land at Da Nang International Airport, bringing 370 passengers to the city, including approximately 250 travel partners from CIS markets. During April and May, this route will operate at a frequency of three flights per week, expected to increase to six flights per week from June.

Following this, at 14:05 on April 16, 2026, flight VJ7989 from Vladivostok (Russia), operated by VietJet Air in cooperation with Anex Vietnam Trading and Tourism Co., Ltd., will also arrive in Da Nang with 220 passengers. In April, this route will operate at a frequency of two flights per month, increasing to three flights per month from May.

To create a positive impression of a friendly and attractive destination from the moment visitors arrive, welcoming programs will be organized over these two days at Terminal T2 – Da Nang International Airport, with the participation of representatives from the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, relevant agencies, and route operators (who will host the welcoming activities). The program will feature a variety of activities such as lion dances, flower and souvenir presentations, photo sessions, and exhibitions of Da Nang tourism publications.

In addition to the welcoming activities, from April 13 to April 18, 2026, Crystal Bay will host a famtrip delegation of more than 250 travel businesses from CIS markets to survey tourism products and services across the city. At the same time, on April 17 and 18, 2026, networking and cooperation seminars with CIS partners are expected to take place, including direct meetings between international travel agencies and tourism service providers in Da Nang.

In the context of fluctuations in several international markets, Russia and CIS are considered promising sources of visitors, contributing to balancing and diversifying Da Nang’s tourism market structure. According to statistics, in the first three months of 2026, the city welcomed approximately 2.3 million international visitors, including over 100,000 from Russia and CIS, accounting for about 4.35%. The city’s tourism sector aims to achieve a growth rate of 30–40% in 2026 compared to 2025, while continuing to strongly expand this market.

In 2026, flights from Russia and CIS to Da Nang are expected to operate from April to October, with an expanded network covering Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, and multiple cities in Russia. Flight frequency will remain stable during the peak season, mainly in the form of charter flights organized by partners such as Crystal Bay, Anex Tour, and other travel companies.

According to plans, in 2026, Anex Tour is expected to operate approximately 169 flights, equivalent to around 23,000 passengers, while Crystal Bay is projected to operate about 400 flights, bringing a total of approximately 80,000–100,000 passengers. The restoration and expansion of flights from Russia and CIS not only diversify visitor markets but also serve as a driving force for Da Nang to further strengthen its position as an attractive international destination in the Asia–Pacific region.
