The 4th Da Nang Asian Film Festival to take place from June 28 to July 4, 2026

On the afternoon of January 5, Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Pham Duc An held a working session with the Vietnam Film Development Association (VFDA) regarding the organization plan for the 4th Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF IV) in 2026. Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi also attended the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Pham Duc An stated that following the success of previous editions of the Da Nang Asian Film Festival, the event should continue to be maintained, promoted, and further improved in terms of organizational effectiveness.

During the meeting, delegates focused on discussing the festival’s main activities, side events, organizational budget, screening venues, and other related matters.

The 4th Da Nang Asian Film Festival will take place from June 28 to July 4, 2026 under the slogan “DANAFF – Bridging Asia to the World.” The event is co-organized by the Da Nang People’s Committee and the Vietnam Film Development Association (VFDA), in coordination with numerous domestic and international cinema organizations, with the aim of enhancing international film cooperation, promoting Da Nang’s image, and fostering the development of Vietnam’s film industry.

The festival’s main events this year include the Opening Ceremony, Closing Ceremony, and Awards Ceremony, which will be held at the Ariyana International Convention Centre. The program also features competition and non-competition film screenings, along with professional, training, and promotion activities. In addition, side events will include the DANAFF Booth, outdoor screenings, press meet-and-greets with filmmakers, and exchanges with Vietnamese and international film stars.

Notably, DANAFF IV will host a number of professional events, including seminars on the film industry, intellectual property rights protection, and the landscape of Vietnamese cinema over 40 years of renovation; advanced training classes with international experts; the Young Talents program; Project Market; film industry networking activities; screenwriting training; and the development of the DANAFF’s Cinephiles community.

This year, DANAFF is expected to welcome approximately 900 delegates, artists, filmmakers, and experts, including around 200 international guests. The opening, closing, and awards ceremonies are expected to be held at the Ariyana International Convention Centre and broadcast live on VTV, with rebroadcasts by Da Nang Newspaper and Radio-Television Station.

DANAFF IV will continue presenting awards for outstanding Asian and Vietnamese films, as well as awards for directors, actors, and screenplays. The highest prize in the Asian film category is valued at VND 135 million, while jury, acting, directing, and screenplay awards range from VND 54 million to VND 81 million.

The Vietnamese film category also offers substantial prize values, with the Best Vietnamese Film award receiving VND 70 million. In addition, there will be the NETPAC Award, the Critics’ Award, and the Audience Award for the most favorite Vietnamese film.
