On Tuesday, October 6th 2015, a meeting of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Coordination Committee for the 5th Asian Beach Games 2016 (ABG 5) took place at the Novotel Danang Premier Han River discussed preparations for this large-scale international event next.
On Tuesday, October 6th 2015, a meeting of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Coordination Committee for the 5th Asian Beach Games 2016 (ABG 5) took place at the Novotel Danang Premier Han River discussed preparations for this large-scale international event next. The meeting was attended by a group from the OCA, led by its Vice President Wei Jizhong, and some representatives from the Vietnam Organizing Board for ABG 5.
During the meeting, participants reached conclusions about the coordination and preparation activities for ABG 5 including the list of beach sports and the different categories of competition, the plans for welcoming ceremony, and the list of local hotels for hosting international guests, participating teams and referees. The OCA also highly praised the Vietnam Organizing Board for its great efforts in ensuring good preparations for the event.
ABG 5 is expected to attract around 3,000 athletes from 45 countries and territories in Asia, including about 350 from Vietnam, a total of 510 leaders of the participating teams and coaches, about 1,400 domestic and international inspectors and referees, 660 volunteers, and a large number of health, security and traffic safety forces.
