Danang Summer Destination 2017

‘ Danang Summer Destination 2017 ’, the annually-held tourism event aiming to establish Da Nang’s reputation as a distinguished coastal destination, is to be commenced on June 17^th 2017, at 17:00.

Designed to attract both locals and visitors alike to take mind-easing retreat or participate in sightseeing and other touristic activities in the city of sun, sand and beaches, ‘Danang Summer Destination 2017’ includes a series of arts, sports and exciting tourism activities. It is hoped that the event would effectively boost the process of refining and promoting Da Nang’s coastal tourism products, as well as developing Da Nang into an events destination.

Time

• The event series lasts for one week, from June 17 to June 23, 2017.
• Of all the listed activities, the best featured will take place during these specific three days: on the 17^th, 18^th and 19^th.

Date

• The events will mostly be arranged at Biển Đông Park and Phạm Văn Đồng Beach.

Highlighted events

Live concert performances (Holiday Beach, Lăng Ông area, 17-18 June, 19:30-20:30). This music event whose program offers a delightful blend of melodies from the violin, saxophone and guitar; flameco symphony; subtle pop ballads as well as the most vibrating and throbbing pop & rock; is bound to give Da Nang dwellers and visitors the most captivating and impressive experience ever.

Son Tra Peninsula Cycling Tournament with the theme ‘Protecting Son Tra National Conservation Park’ (25 June, 07:00-11:30) and Son Tra Adventure Run (18 June, 06:00-09:00). Through these races, the organizers wish to plead with both Da Nang residents and visitors to protect and preserve the environment; while at the same time promote ecotourism in Son Tra Peninsula, putting it on the must-do list of domestic and international tourists.

Cooking contest ‘Best Dishes of Da Nang’ – Meeting with Master Chef Phạm Tuấn Hải (22 June, 16:00-22:00). The contest sets its goal to preserve, reinforce and promote Da Nang cuisine for its rich history, indispensable roles and uplifting values close to the hearts of the city locals’. In addition, the organizers plan to seek for passionate and talented candidates only to whose hands secret recipes and cooking methods of Da Nang’s best specialties are known.

Paragliding contest ‘Gliding over Tien Sa 2017’ (20-23 June, 08:00-17:30). The competing teams include VietWings, HaNoi Paragliding, Hải Phòng ParaGliding, Northern Aviation club, Nha Trang Aviation club, Southern Aviation club…; each participating with 50 members. The contest is also joined by 20 freelancer paragliders from all over the country.

‘Seaside Festival’ (17-18 June, 15:30-18:00). The programme seeks to depict and enliven a wide range of fishermen’s daily activities: basket boats paddling race, war of tug, weaving fishing nets, ‘shoulder poles’ relay race, together with other fun beach games (‘Fill the sea with land’, ‘Beware of the sea’ paddling game, ‘Dance beside the splashing waves’, ‘Dive deep for the pearls’…). This selection of various exciting activities is promised to draw the participation of locals and visitors.

Moreover, at the central opening ground, various shows and activities are run simultaneously with the above-mentioned events, enriching the festivity of the occasion. Each evening would provide an entertaining outlet comprising of not only souvenirs stalls, tourist shops, consumer goods, F&B stores but also flashy music shows featured by junior voice talents; team dance sports shows; pop-rock bands meet and greet; kite-flying art show; arranging and decorating basket boats; neon face and hands painting arts showcasing delicate patterns; “Building sand sculptures on Da Nang beach” contest; admiring Son Tra sunset; other beach sports and games (Cano-racing, paragliding, towed banana buoy and water motorbike for rent…)

The highlight of ‘ Danang Summer Destination 2017 ’ event is the ‘Bikini Flash mob’ (17 June, 17:00-17:15), joined by over 150 professional bikini models. Celebrating this year big event, the models will be performing exciting dances on the sandy beach, under the theme ‘Well-dressed for a swim in the sea’. This most featured show is expected to overwhelm visitors with out-of-the-ordinary surprises.

The organizers put great expectations in ‘ Danang Summer Destination 2017 ’ event; regarding it as a ground-breaking action to refine and promote the city coastal tourism products as well as to develop Da Nang as a safe and attractive tourist destination in the eyes of both domestic and international visitors.
